Liechtenstein’s hereditary prince has blocked an abortion bill passed by parliament. Apparently, being born into the right family makes his beliefs more important than women’s bodily autonomy.
What the fuck is democracy worth if a prince still gets the final say?

No one should inherit the power to block other people’s rights. No palace should put anyone beyond democratic accountability. Hereditary political power belongs in the history books. #Liechtenstein
An elected parliament votes for abortion reform. A hereditary prince blocks it. This is what royal power means in practice: one man’s beliefs overriding democratic decisions of the people of Liechtenstein and women’s bodily autonomy. Abolish the veto.

Liechtenstein is a mafia state. And their ‘monarch’ is a contemptible little man who should be thrown out of his job.

Europe’s biggest salmon producers are beginning to feed chicken to their fish, breaking a longstanding taboo in the hunt for cheap protein.
Supermarkets previously feared a backlash from consumers who might regard the practice 'unnatural'. What changed? ft.trib.al/3jB6sly
FJERDE VM PÅ 4000m HOLDFORFØLGELSE I TRÆK.

We are so thankful, moved and proud of Fin’s fellow cyclists today for making a stand at the Tour of Lombardy. Things need to change and no other family should ever receive the phone call we received on 14th Aug. We sincerely hope the UCI are listening and changes will be made.

The US won both the U23 and elite men’s road races with almost identical moves: Ashlin Barry went solo with 30km to go, Brandon McNulty with 32.
Spain left Montréal with Noval’s junior double, Neira’s junior road title and two U23 medals for Álvarez.
But the rider I’m most curious about at the European Championships didn’t race Worlds at all.
Twenty-year-old Jakob Omrzel won a Vuelta stage and finished seventh overall, then skipped Montréal to recover and target the European Championships on home roads. Sunday brings five ascents of Možjanca: 2.1km at 10.2%.
He isn’t the favourite. Neither was McNulty.

Have you ever wondered how much money you get for winning the World Champs or finishing in the TOP 10? Here is your answer. And the numbers are in my opinion ridiculous.
According to the official UCI scale, the Elite winners, Brandon McNulty and Demi Vollering each received €8,000 for winning the elite road race. Second place was €4,000. Third was €2,000. Fourth and everyone else: nothing. Same amounts for the elite time trial. Under-23 winners get €4,000. Junior winners get €2,000.
For example, we had the US Open recently, right? US Open singles champion takes home $5.5 million. A player who loses in the first round of the US Open still walks away with $140,000. That is more than seventeen cycling world titles.
So winning the world title on the road is one of the hardest achievements in top sport. But it is also one of the worst-paid “world championships” in global sport.
