Today, I received the Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) Programme team, led by Dr Tope Fasua, Chair of the Technical Committee, to advance implementation and align the Programme with the Ministry’s priorities.
As AfCFTA Digital Trade Co-Champion and Chair of the Bureau of the AfCFTA Council of Ministers responsible for Trade, Nigeria is positioned to lead Africa’s digital and creative economy. Through initiatives like iDICE, we will unlock investment, commercialise intellectual property, scale Nigerian talent and create globally competitive enterprises and sustainable jobs advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

We are starting this early in the year to quickly aggregate interests from farmers who have tractorable land ready for mechanization operations.
This is our 3rd year of implementing this policy. We are getting better every day, and the interests from Mechanisation Service Providers are overwhelming. The smallholder farmers are feeling the impact.
Did we have some gaps last year? Yes, we did.
Are there opportunities to improve? Yes, of course.
We are communicating rightly with the farmers that it's only land that is free from stumps that are suitable for tractorization. We had examples from some groups of farmers last year. We recently profiled and selected some of them for land clearing activities. Land clearing and tractorisation are two different operations.
As agreed with the MSPs, tractorisation services must be done within 48 hours after payment from the farmers has been confirmed. We have our own tractors to intervene anywhere we see unnecessary delays.
