Dr. Temple Grandin keynoting the amazing @Ohio_CEC conference!
Well, we somehow found $1.8b in the budget BUT we aren't spending it as planned, may I suggest we use it to invest in our public schools? To support the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act? To support workforce development for teachers? @ChrisVanHollen @SenWarren
Thank you, @maziehirono for the friendship bracelet. Proud to show
It off!
We stand together to protect ED and our young people. Thank you to @maziehirono for her leadership and @amyloyd1 and team for raising your voices for us all!
Shout out to the @united gate agent at @Fly_KansasCity (flight 6615, Larry A.) Helpful and friendly, despite a two hour delay. He went above and beyond to help me, as well. Easily the most cheerful gate agent I’ve ever met.
Children with disabilities deserve strong oversight and support. Staff cuts to the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) threaten the implementation of IDEA and the rights it protects. 📢 Urge Congress to restore OSEP immediately. #4SpecialEducation

Love seeing this student chapter of CEC fundraising to send undergraduates to the Special Education Legislative Summit to advocate for kids with disabilities! Dr. Mason brought a group last year, as well, and they were great! If you have a few dollars, fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/W…

Great seeing @CECMembership president Dr Julie Bost hyping up the @MichiganCEC conference! What an amazingly welcoming community!
Thank you, @SenatorHassan for asking about Students with Disabilities!
Thank you @timkaine for asking about enforcing IDEA beyond just finances and for asking about educator shortages. These are both at the core of what the Department of Education should be doing!

ALT Blue background with a graphic of the logo for Quinnipiac's School of Education. The text reads, "Meet our partner of the month: Quinnipiac University School of Education; The Quinnipiac University School of Education will empower you to provide inclusive learning opportunities for all students."
This would have horrible consequences for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities.
A White House official says @realDonaldTrump will take steps later this month to fulfill a campaign promise to defund the Department of Education.
I will be leaving Twitter / X this week. If you are on BlueSky, please add me or drop your link.
