🇷🇼#Rwanda: The decision to revoke licenses and shut down manufacturers of the dangerous alcoholic beverages is commendable. But it raises far more serious questions. - For how long have these unsafe products been on the market? - Who inspected them? - Who approved them? - Who failed to detect the problem before lives were lost? - And did anyone receive bribes or other improper financial benefits to allow these products onto the market? Consumers purchase products believing they have been vetted and approved by the Rwanda Food and Drugs Authority, @RwandaGov, and other relevant authorities. That trust has now been severely breached. Removing these products from the market and punishing the manufacturers & distributers is not enough. There must be a full, transparent investigation, accountability for any regulatory failures, and justice for the families who lost loved ones; including appropriate compensation where negligence is established. I'm surprised not to hear voices like @Dominiquehab, @nsanzimanasabin and @eugirashebuja1 calling for accountability within the @RwandaGov. Who will be held responsible? What sanctions will they face? And how will the victims' families obtain justice? @Rwanda_Justice @RwandaFDA @RwandaHealth @PaulKagame
