Unlike other melanoma, Acral Lentiginous Melanoma (ALM) is usually located on the palms of hands & soles of feet. ALM is the only type of melanoma which arises equally across all skin types & is frequently observed in darker skin types. ALM can advance faster than other melanoma.

Rates of melanoma are rising faster than any other cancer in Britain. Why is that? Is it because there is still a genuine lack of awareness regarding the dangers of UV radiation and how to enjoy the sun safely? There’s much work to be done, but WE ARE making a difference!

This is the statistic that always surprises everyone when we share it. The UK has to take more steps to take skin cancer seriously. Even the public health guidance for heatwaves has minimal outdated advice on sun safety information. We continue to keep working to make a change!
