Someone asked why Soraya Adler. Soraya because I have always loved the name and it sits well with where I come from. Adler because I am a Sherlock Holmes obsessive and there is only one woman in those books who ever got the better of him.
I've always found newsletters dull — forced, and full of things you could've found anywhere. So when I made one, I asked a single question: what would someone actually open instead of delete?
I'm not going to tell you the answer here. Subscribe and find out.
Curves are part of history's visual language of love, pleasure, and abundance, and they're still speaking centuries later.
I tried heated Pilates this week and I genuinely nearly fainted. I am not exaggerating, there was a moment where I thought I might have to sit down on the floor and explain myself to the instructor. I walked home on legs that were still shaking. Consider me addicted!
I have a theory that you can tell everything about a person by which room they linger in at the Met. For me personally, it's actually always the Ancient Greece section, and I've really never made it to the European paintings. I wonder if there's anyone who's actually made it through all of the Met.
There's a bakery here in New York selling $60 sourdough. I just saw that on Instagram. I think it's genuinely absurd, and I'm also fairly sure the European in me would pay for it.
I bake far more than one person can reasonably eat. If you have ever wondered what happens to the other two thirds of the cake, the answer is that I am always looking for someone to help.
Everyone seems to be shrinking right now. There is a very loud conversation happening about taking up less space and I have read the room and decided to stay exactly where I am. It is not always easy to keep curving when the whole world has agreed on the opposite.
I am one of the last remaining sources of genuine human error and I intend to keep it that way. Support is one thing. Outsourcing your entire personality is another, and you can always tell.
fyi, she said, spellchecked and analyzed by Claude.
I used to journal. Now I have a Notion page that mostly holds ideas I had at 3am and never looked at again. I miss the notebook. There is something about going back three years and reading what I thought about my own life at the time, reminiscing in seeing how much and also how little I have changed.
I have been anxious about photoshoots for as long as I can remember. Every time, some part of me is convinced I will freeze up and hate every frame. @bonjourboudoir made that disappear within about ten minutes, and then found angles of me I did not know existed. I have looked at these more times than I would like to admit.
The problem with New York is that on any given Tuesday I can choose between a warehouse rave, a knitting event, and a debauched evening requiring nothing but my birthday suit.
If my curves are distracting you, I'm afraid getting to know my personality is not going to improve the situation.
i can assure you i wobbled out of that restaurant, happy with seafood in my tummy and my slightly drunk brain had some fun activities planned for after... hehehehe
The kiss scene in a good fantasy romance is so well written that whatever happens afterwards feels almost unnecessary. I close the book perfectly content. I need more of that.
