More than 100 elected officials have joined me in calling on parking lot and garage owners across New York City: Don’t give ICE a place to operate. Don’t rent to them. Tell them they’re not welcome. Last week, ICE agents shot Oscar Belgal in the neck in Marble Hill while his 5-year-old son sat in the car. They had been staging nearby in a private parking lot. Our city laws keep ICE off public property. Now, we’re calling on private property owners to do the same. One garage on Morton Street already removed ICE vehicles after neighbors spoke out. Every owner has that power.

27,000 New Yorkers lost their SNAP benefits due to cruel cuts from the federal government. If you’re one of them, New York City is here to help.  As of October 1st, you can re-enroll for SNAP benefits. But there are new rules.
Call 718-SNAP-NOW or visit nyc.gov/ACCESSHRA for help re-enrolling and to understand what’s changed.  While Washington turns its back on working Americans, New York is here for you. Because everyone deserves to put food on their table.

This year alone, New Yorkers have reported more than 188,000 incidents of domestic violence. That's 780 incidents every day. Countless others go unreported. Today, we wear purple to honor the lives stolen by domestic violence, stand with survivors and reaffirm a simple promise to every New Yorker: You deserve to feel safe in your home and in your relationship. To anyone experiencing domestic violence: You do not have to face this alone. If you or someone you love needs help, call 1-800-621-HOPE or visit on.nyc.gov/hotlinechat.

If you are in New York City and are too sick to cook for yourself, there is an organization interested in delivering free prepared meals to more Long COVID and ME patients! God's Love We Deliver has been quite an institution in New York - they started out delivering food during the AIDS crisis and have grown to a $30 million/year non-profit. But when I went to apply, I quickly found out that though they serve pretty much all of the "traditional" illnesses - Parkinsons, ALS, etc. - they don't support complex chronic conditions! So I've been doing some personal advocacy. Over the last few months, I've emailed, and called, and emailed, and called, speaking to several different people and making the case for how debilitating Long COVID and ME are. Finally, I was able to convince them to accept my application. Once I was connected to the nutritionist assigned to my case, I had a long call with her and she was blown away that someone could be bedbound from Long COVID - she had never heard of such a thing! So I convinced her that I should help get the word out in our community and she agreed. GLWD delivers frozen meals weekly: five lunches and five dinners, and they work with you to customize nutrition based on your specific needs. I have finally been well enough the last two weeks where I can get out of bed for a few minutes to roll over to the microwave, and it is such a joy to eat warm food again. If you or anyone you know is in NYC and could use meal delivery, I'm happy to walk you through how to apply and answer any questions.

We’re moving 10,000 low-income children off the child care voucher waitlist — at absolutely no cost to their families. Eligible families with children ages 6 weeks to 13 years, and through age 19 for children with special needs, will be invited to apply for a voucher on a rolling basis. Once approved, finding care is as simple as visiting NYC.gov/childcare to locate licensed child care providers that accept vouchers. No New Yorker will be left behind in the fight for universal child care.

Simon has been found dead, reportedly from "suicide." RIP to Simon and to all whistleblowers who have died too young. The truth about Lutnick will never die
I am the British whistleblower who reported evidence concerning Howard Lutnick, his links to Jeffrey Epstein, and Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC to the FBI in 2020–21. Listen to the BBC File on 4 documentary about my whistleblower story: bbc.com/audio/play/m002yx47 BBC News: bbc.com/news/articles/c9q28d… I later shared evidence with the House Oversight Committee, which subsequently questioned Lutnick behind closed doors. My disclosures also contributed to regulatory action in the US and UK, including a £96m HMRC tax assessment relating to BGC’s partnership scheme. I believe the true tax exposure is substantially higher. I also reported to the FBI and financial regulators matters involving Cantor Fitzgerald’s Relief Fund and BGC/Cantor’s annual 9/11 Charity Day. The personal consequences of whistleblowing, and the retaliation I say followed, have been devastating for my family and me. Mother Jones previously reported that documents I uncovered revealed a years-long business tie between Howard Lutnick, Cantor Fitzgerald and Jeffrey Epstein through AdFin, including a 2018 exchange in which Lutnick and Epstein discussed the company directly: motherjones.com/politics/202… motherjones.com/politics/202… Follow me here on X and on LinkedIn. I intend to share more of the evidence and the story behind what happened.
