We are delighted to announce that yesterday at the @WorldHealthSmt in Berlin the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) and the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), strengthening our common mission to ensuring that every woman receives the highest quality of care for her sexual, reproductive, maternal, newborn and adolescent health globally.
Our two professions are distinct in competency and scope, yet united in purpose. This MoU reflects our deliberate choice to move from parallel effort to genuine partnership, grounded in mutual respect and our shared commitment to women-centred care.
Together, we are accelerating progress towards a future where every woman and every girl have access to quality, equitable and respectful care, everywhere.

I am privileged to represent AIMS on this national work group. Our discussions are all multidisciplinary - including break out groups - which makes it a brilliant space for developing mutual understanding. 1/3
AIMS is participating today in the NHS England Maternity and Neonatal Stakeholder Council, which remains in place in parallel with the new DHSC Taskforce/Expert Reference Group structures.
