My sincere thanks to @Scotambservice @NHSTayside for excellent care received for recent A&E admission and short stay at Ninewells AMU for severe infection kidneys and blood clot on right lung. Could have been catastrophic but for the professionalism and care received 🙏🙏👌

The picture is much more bleak in Scotland. Down from 12th in the world in 2000, to 28th. You couldn’t get a sharper contrast in how policy and strategy can make a huge impact on educational outcomes.

I regularly visit Dundee as it’s only a few miles away from where I live. I am very fond of the city. But its decline in recent years is absolutely horrendous. A once glorious city is now full of decay. Boarded up shops. Dirty streets and buildings. Derelict buildings. Pavements covered in weeds. Homeless everywhere. Litter everywhere. Parts of the city centre look hollowed out and completely run down in comparison to its former vibrant and bustling eras of the past. And it’s happening all over the UK. Shame on the local councils who are clearly not bothering to use council tax money on the basic maintenance of civic pride and a failure in providing the opportunities for business and enterprise to flourish. What was once vibrant and bustling city has been reduced to a ghost of its former self. This is not inevitable. It is the direct result of national and local governments that collect our tax money, yet treat the most basic duties of maintenance and civic pride as optional extras. They have failed to keep the streets clean, the buildings standing and the conditions alive in which enterprise can breathe. And Dundee is no isolated tragedy. The same high street decay is recognisable across the UK. Shame on those who hold the power and the purse yet choose neglect over responsibility. A town or city does not decay by accident. It decays when those charged with its care simply stop doing their job properly.

Another backward step for our country. Middle-aged men have been stripped of their right to PSA tests that help detect prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, with around 63,000 diagnoses and 12,000 deaths annually & most men will have no symptoms. Stopping these tests & having no screening process in place is a major mistake & a false economy.

Congratulations to Edinburgh-born Josh Kerr for smashing the men's mile world record in London earlier. The previous record had stood for 28 years 😮 An incredible achievement 👏

Porto Zoro Beach is one of Zakynthos' quieter coastal gems, offering visitors a beautiful combination of crystal-clear water and stunning natural scenery. The beach is known for its impressive rock formations that emerge from the sea just offshore, giving the landscape a distinctive and memorable character. With its calm atmosphere and inviting waters, Porto Zoro is an excellent choice for those looking to escape the busier beaches on the island. What you can experience: • Swimming in clear turquoise waters • Relaxing on a peaceful sandy beach • Snorkelling around the fascinating rock formations • Enjoying beautiful views of Zakynthos' coastline • Unwinding in a tranquil seaside setting The beach has a wonderfully laid-back atmosphere that encourages visitors to slow down and appreciate their surroundings. Whether you're looking for a refreshing swim, a quiet afternoon by the sea, or simply a beautiful place to relax, Porto Zoro delivers one of Zakynthos' most enjoyable beach experiences. Man died after twice being told that no ambulance would be sent. WHY no scrutiny of @Scotambservice like what Fire & Police Scotland had to endure and still have to after all these years of @scotgov @theSNP Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Act 2012 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c70y…

Scottish taxpayers, against the vast majority’s will, funded an attempt by the government to keep men in women’s prisons. Never have I been so tempted to move to Monaco and give all the money I’ve been paying in tax to groups fighting the rank misogyny of Swinney’s government.
