One of my greatest joys is how vast the music of Nigeria is. Most people have pointed out that Ramadan by Tolibian sounds like Yinka Ayefele’s Orin Ti Change (2000). But Ayefele too was inspired by Rosaline Ogunro’s Oro Re (1989), who in turn did a cover by JO Oyeshiku from 1960.

At St Luke’s Centre Community extravaganza for the Queen’s Jubilee celebration. Royal biscuit and cake decorating, soapbox discovery sessions for young people, Little Angel Theatre puppet workshop, live music, and yes some karaoke. I got to wear a crown as well. Great fun.
