Exhibit A (Talarico) and B (comment) on why today's Christian leaders need *philosophical* training in particular, both to identify and evaluate load-bearing metaphysical claims made in the public square and to help others do the same.

Jordan's new book is an outstanding theologically and philosophically informed introduction to the issues and options concerning the retrieval of various forms of classical theism today. Pick up a copy!
Amazon tells me you can have my book by 4am tomorrow. And it's the perfect read for 4am. 😇 amzn.to/4kT8Opv

I think this is the best single volume out there on the broad shape of the natural law tradition. The unique blend of primary historical sources and sources in contemporary moral and metaphysical issues related to natural law is, I think, unrivaled. Check it out!

And I think Grabill’s book is still one of the best for a treatment of NL in the Reformed theological tradition.

I always love the pageantry, hymns, and Christmas decorations of our Fall graduation at Southeastern seminary.

It's been encouraging to see a host of recent-ish books published that I would classify as "Christian public philosophy" as they're written to communicate ancient Judeo-Christian philosophical insights to a wider audience outside the academy. Here are some I'd recommend: 🧵

James K.A. Smith, On the Road with Saint Augustine A spiritually-animated tour of Augustine's Confessions as an existentially-oriented apologetic for the truth and beauty of a Christian philosophical way of life. @james_ka_smith

Ross Inman, Christian Philosophy as a Way of Life: An Invitation to Wonder A modern Enchiridion that aims to introduce Christian readers to an older, more ancient vision of Christian philosophy as an entire way of seeing and living in the world. I'm personally fond of this one!

Please read anything and everything by Jean Twenge on the ways that our digital technologies are reshaping human experience. I’ve adopted the same no tech policy in all my college and seminary classes for several years. A true game changer.
I and a growing number of professors ban all devices during class--even our grad students fall into distraction. How can K-12 students handle it? @jean_twenge shows that they can't. Get laptops and tablets out of classrooms now: nytimes.com/2025/11/16/opini…

Looking forward to this one! How might the Victorines speak to the current reading crisis in the church and the academy?

The latest issue of Philosophia Christi! Lots to chew on for those interested in philosophy and theology in this one feat a symposium on WLC’s book on penal substitutionary atonement (critics + response from WLC). Joining @epsociety is cheap and well worth it. Join us!
