Here in #Taiwan, foreign “experts” know one way to obtain funding from @iingwen @ChingteLai @dpponline govts is to call Taiwan a vibrant democracy. Taiwan’s Tourism Admin has borrowed vibrant to use in @SmithsonianMag: "Taiwan’s vibrant food culture". ROC = Republic of Cliché?

LOOK: The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Tuesday (Oct.6, 2026) releases a video where a Chinese J-16 fighter aircraft was seen repeatedly operating in close proximity to the AFP's C-208 aircraft, positioning itself around and even crossing the front of the Philippine aircraft, placing it within its wake turbulence. The AFP said such maneuvers unnecessarily reduce the safe separation and reaction time between aircraft, while turbulence or disrupted airflow from the J-16 may affect the C-208’s flight performance leading to a loss of lift, increasing the risk of an aviation safety incident. The incident took place on Oct. 3 as the C-208 was conducting a routine patrol over Bajo de Masinloc in the @ #WestPhilippineSea. I Priam Nepomuceno (Video courtesy of the AFP)

BREAKING: Binghui Liu a citizen of China—living in California pending his asylum application!—pleaded guilty today to a money laundering conspiracy. In this evil scheme, individuals posing as federal officers contacted victims and falsely claimed that criminal charges had been filed against them and that their bank accounts would be frozen. The scammers, operating both inside and outside the United States, instructed victims to withdraw their savings in cash and surrender the money “for safekeeping.” Victims were told that a federal official would arrive to collect the cash. The scammers used fake names, code words, and directed the victims to take pictures of themselves and the cash packaged for pickup. Over approximately two months, Liu took approximately $597,100 from 24 victims throughout California and Nevada. He will now be sentenced for his crimes, thanks to the diligent work work of @EDNYnews and @FBI. READ MORE: justice.gov/usao-edca/pr/chi…

Václav Havel believed that truth was better than fear, freedom was worth fighting for, and Europe’s future belonged to everyone. He devoted his life to those convictions and helped change the course of history. On what would have been his 90th birthday, I’m remembering my friend with gratitude for his courage, his love of our common humanity, and the work we did together to bring the Czech Republic into NATO and build a Europe no longer divided. We also shared a love of music. So today, I’m playing a few notes in his honor. Happy birthday, my friend. The world could use more of your spirit.

Statement of the National Security Adviser Secretary Eduardo SL Oban, Jr. 06 October 2026 | Manila, Philippines The National Security Council takes seriously the information presented during the impeachment proceedings regarding reported financial inflows from China into a Philippine-based company associated with the family of Vice President Sara Duterte. While the proceedings remain ongoing and the information presented should be properly examined within established legal processes, the reported transactions and any credible information involving significant foreign financial flows that may bear upon the country's national security warrants careful, in-depth, and responsible assessment. The NSC will look into the information presented and, as a matter of policy, continue to task the intelligence and investigative agencies and coordinate with relevant government institutions to assess the national security implications, if any, arising from the reported transactions. ###

The Chinese government allegedly sent an operative to surveil the family of Taiwan’s President ON AMERICAN SOIL — photos, video, license plates — then she tried to hop a flight back to Shanghai. Wrong move. FBI Los Angeles arrested Wanying Zhang at LAX on charges of acting as an unregistered agent of the PRC. Foreign adversaries take note: America is NOT your playground. Under President Trump’s leadership, this FBI is hunting national security threats wherever they hide — and putting them in cuffs. -DKP🇺🇸

Here in #Taiwan, the Deputy FM and the defacto ambo to the US might want to discuss whether or not Taiwan is on the "menu". Or stop using silly cliches when interviewed by @business or other foreign media. @MOFA_Taiwan @TECRO_USA bloomberg.com/news/articles/… nitter.cf/business/status/210679…
“Taiwan is not on the menu.” Alexander Yui, Taiwan’s Representative to the United States, tells @davidgura and @EenaRuffini that US policy remains unchanged following President Trump’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Washington. The two world leaders are set to meet two more times before the end of the year.
