MAYC isn’t just a derivative of Bored Apes. It represents 66% of it’s overall community.
Mutants are severely undervalued, given it’s the only other way to get @BoredApeYC Membership

One of the best things you can do to nourish your soul is find a hobby that has nothing to do with technology. Paint. Surf. Play guitar. Hike. Collect. Garden. Do anything that gets you away from a screen and back into the physical world.
it seems like an important facet of Creation to understand that nature destroyed itself five different times. 90% of all species on earth dead, the permanent changing of the atmosphere, millions of years to recover to a semblance of an ecosystem. the yugas of the earth

If you have strong intuitions about the future, have high agency, and are creative... you need to put yourself in a position where you can act on those intuitions. Ideally with enough freedom to navigate and follow those intuitions as they change. 1 year in the singularity is worth 10 normal years. Think about the opportunity cost of spending a year in something you don't deeply believe in.

Maybe a bit hyperbolic but I feel like there’s a very real sense in which we’ve already lost control of AI

interpretability might be the most important scientific problem in the world right now, as I don't think we can solve alignment if we don't know what we're building. I think I have good news about it. I co-authored early work in mechanistic interpretability at OpenAI and came away pessimistic, because neural networks appeared to fold into arbitrary tangled knots. years later, I started openai's first large-scale automated interpretability project, finding about 2% of neurons legible with the primitive tools we had
with modern agentic tools and a much closer look, the picture looks totally different. the vast majority in models up to trillions of parameters are legible, and their circuits beautiful. many famous examples of tangled neurons turned out to be misunderstood. The roadblocks I expected mostly aren't there. I now think ambitious interpretability will be solved by the time we need it most, and possibly quite soon, as automated scientists keep improving. it may be a bitter lesson for interpretability: the simple thing, at absurd scale, works

say it with me now. experts are fake, smart generalists rule the world, everything is designed by people no smarter than you, and courage is in shorter supply than genius

To all my bros:
Bring back your prime one more fcking time. Your parents are getting older, and no one is more desperate to see you succeed than they are.
Everything can wait, I repeat, everything. But not your parents. So fck everything and do it for them.

major life update: i’ve moved on from building dashboards that provide deeper insights into critical business functions to building agentic workflows that automate critical business functions

for the past few months i've been asking our models to paint. opus 5.5 is very skilled at emulating different styles
every image here is a python program generated pixel by pixel. there is no image model, and no off-the-shelf art software. instead, it's about 7,500 lines of code using standard libraries to emulate different brush styles. the agents don't use any pictures as reference, instead working only from what they know about each painter
