Why is Trump fighting an all-out trade war with Canada? It's Canada for god's sake! Our friends and neighbors. I pushed to pass a bill to END Trump's tariffs and trade war and save families money—Republicans blocked it.

The Kennedy Memorial is made of irreplaceable marble that was gifted by Italy. Matisse tapestries found throughout were gifted from France. The massive starburst chandelier in the Opera Hall, and lights along walkways, were a gift from Sweden. The record-breaking stage curtains were a gift from Japan. They had to build special looms to weave them because of how big they are. The grounds are beautiful with displays of art. This is what Trump is destroying.

Love this
Fall mailboat'n weather keeps on giving. It was a sensational day for a boat ride. A quick "hey look at that" shot, the three tusketeers (I know seals don't have tusks), on the hook and cookies. Friday is cookie day at one of my islands. Today's offering look really interesting.

This is amazing: Kerry Kennedy, niece of President John F. Kennedy, is organizing a rally tonight where people will literally join hands and surround the Kennedy Center to protect it from Trump's demolition plans. Do you stand with Kerry Kennedy? #HandsAroundTheKennedyCenter

Got added to a neighborhood WhatsApp group chat by a wrong number about a year ago. It was called "Oak Lane Watch." I don’t live on Oak Lane. I live on Maple Street, three towns over. But instead of leaving the chat like a normal person, I just stayed to lurk. For months, it was just typical suburban drama people complaining about leaf blowers or asking if anyone lost a ginger cat. But then, this guy named Keith started posting about a "suspiciously large bird" in his driveway. Nobody believed him. He kept posting updates, getting more and more frantic, and for some reason, I decided to back him up. I found a stock photo of a wild emu and texted, "Saw him on my lawn too, Keith. Stay strong." This triggered absolute suburban mass hysteria. People were locking their dogs inside. The HOA president called an emergency meeting. I eventually forgot about it until yesterday, when my actual neighbor asked if I’d heard about the "Oak Lane Emu" that apparently terrorized a town twenty miles away last year. I had to look them in the eye and pretend I’d never heard of it.

A few reflections heading home from the Bills game tonight as a Canadian. 🇨🇦🇺🇸🏈 There is a lot of noise in the Canada-U.S. relationship right now. Trade fights, tariffs, political rhetoric and plenty of frustration on both sides of the border. But then you spend a night in Buffalo. Canadians and Americans tailgating together. Singing both anthems. Cheering for the same team. Talking football, families and life. Nobody asking who won the latest political argument. It is a good reminder that our relationship is much bigger than whoever happens to occupy political office at any particular moment. We share communities, businesses, friendships, families, sports and a border that has connected us for generations. Governments will disagree. We should stand up for our respective interests when they do. But we shouldn’t lose sight of each other in the process. Tonight felt like a reminder of that. Break tables, not relationships. 🇨🇦🤝🇺🇸 #BillsMafia #GoBills

Drew Lock talked about how important Seattle and the #Seahawks are: From the belief they had in me (originally) was through the roof. It warmed my heart. Then to have our first child here, then to come back and have our second one here - the odds of that are so slim. It's special. #Seahawks

Drew Lock on Sam Darnold's help this week: Sam's been in every meeting. I still can't beat him to the building somehow. He's been fantastic. I've been leaning on him pretty heavy. He's been around and has not stopped working. #Seahawks

#Seahawks HC Mike Macdonald reflects on his first time coaching in Seattle and what it was like: "I am a little bit of a procrastinator, which I think has helped me do good work because you feel like you're elevated when you need to go. But the trade-off of that is like, it was hard to move. It was even hard to get out of bed. I put a ton of pressure on myself because I have massive expectations for what we are trying to create. It is not good enough to not be the best. But that takes time to get there, and it's a process. If you are not willing to take it incrementally and take some punches along the way because you made decisions quickly... I just wanted to be right all the time. I didn't know what right was, and I put a lot of pressure on myself to be right. That was the weight I was carrying. I felt like I was carrying that burden because we weren't where I wanted to be, and it wasn't clear what to do. It can be a lonely, tough feeling.” He said he wouldn’t get out of bed during the weekends, said he was drinking a lot, and said he would show up late for work in his first year of coaching: “I was not a great leader my first year. I fell short that year. I wasn’t the best version of myself.” Is he happy? “I have joy; am I always happy? I think I am happy.” - I hope he knows the fan base loves him, win or lose. via @GrahamBensinger

Josh Allen scored the first touchdown in the Bills' new stadium tonight. Before the game, he walked in wearing a hat. Here's what it meant. The hat was designed by a child receiving care at Golisano Children's Hospital of Buffalo. It's the first of eight. Allen will wear a different one on his tunnel walk before every single home game this season, each one drawn by a different kid. The front of every cap is the same, a Bills logo Allen sketched himself that went viral a few years ago. Everything else belongs to the kid who made it. Jack built his entirely around color, because color is the thing he loves most. Mason covered his in his favorite animated characters. Charlotte picked bright, playful colors, and drew a pair of lungs on hers. A tribute to the thing she had to beat. The project exists because of Allen's grandmother. Patricia Allen died suddenly in November 2020 at 80 years old. Less than 24 hours later, Allen threw for 415 yards against Seattle, and nobody watching knew anything was wrong. Then somebody on Reddit told Bills fans to donate $17 to the children's hospital in her memory. Seventeen, for his jersey number. It didn't stop. By that December it had passed a million dollars. The hospital created the Patricia Allen Fund out of it, pointed at the pediatric critical care team. This past June, the fund crossed $17 million. More than 60,000 donors, all 50 states, ten countries. Seventeen dollars at a time, to $17 million. Nobody planned that. The hats raised another $140,230 last year. This season all eight designs are available to fans, and every purchase goes back to the same fund. So when the cameras found Josh Allen walking into that new building tonight, that wasn't a fashion statement on his head. A kid made that.

There are plenty of things to be mad about in this world, many of them justifiably. Instead, we got real human beings getting upset because Tillamook has a “Certified Halal” label on their products? With all due disrespect to all those upset, shut the fuck up.

OH. MY. GOD. If you have EVER fantasized about what you'd tell trump to his face if you had the chance, Rep. Joyce Beatty just DID that. He thought he was going to call her names. And he found out. So good. 🔥 🔥 🔥
