The rising cost of living affects how workers approach career development and long-term financial stability. A survey by Penn Foster, reported by HR Dive, found that one in four U.S. adults feels less confident about building a stable career than they did three years ago. The same survey found that 70% of respondents would spend no more than $2,500 on training for a new career, while a similar share preferred training programs lasting less than a year. These findings highlight the importance of making professional development affordable, practical and accessible. #RoseInt #PeopleMakingItHappen #Training #Career 📷: Canva Pro, Shutterstock

Target is gearing up for the holiday shopping rush by hiring thousands of temporary workers across the United States. The retailer is hiring for seasonal positions in its stores and supply chain operations, including for customer service, shelf stocking and fulfilling online orders, with pay ranging from $15 to $24 per hour. Seasonal employees are offered benefits on their first day, such as early pay access and backup childcare services, along with team member discounts, access to 24/7 virtual healthcare and mental health support. In 2025, more than half of seasonal employees remained with Target after the holiday season. #RoseInt #PeopleMakingItHappen #Target #Hiring 📷: Canva Pro, Shutterstock

Employee retention remains a major workforce consideration, with 52% of U.S. employees watching for or actively seeking a new job, according to Gallup's 2026 data. At the same time, just 28% believe it is currently a good time to find a quality job. That gap suggests that employees are open to new job opportunities even when they aren't confident about the job market. Leadership, career growth, clarity around expectations and the overall employee experience influence whether someone chooses to stay. Research discussed by Inc. also points to the importance of manager relationships, recognition, team culture and employee well-being in retention. For organizations, retaining talent starts with understanding what employees need to do their best work and creating an environment where they see a future with the company. #RoseInt #PeopleMakingItHappen #Retention #Workforce

A strong workplace culture weakens gradually when employees lose trust, stop sharing ideas or become disconnected from company values. HRMorning identifies warning signs of what it calls “culture rot,” including increased cynicism, reduced collaboration, slipping standards and the departure of high-performing employees. These issues affect engagement, productivity and an organization's ability to retain talent. Leaders handle by checking in with employees regularly, creating safe opportunities for honest feedback and addressing concerns before they become entrenched. A healthy culture requires more than stated values. It depends on consistent leadership behavior, accountability and a willingness to adapt as workforce needs change. #RoseInt #PeopleMakingItHappen #Workplace #Culture 📷: Canva Pro, Shutterstock

Gen Z and Gen Alpha influence how retailers approach the holiday shopping season, combining digital discovery with a continued interest in physical stores. Retail Dive reports that 80% of Gen Z shoppers surveyed by Attentive used AI to make a purchase within the previous three months. At the same time, younger shoppers value personalization, affordability and the opportunity to explore products in person. Retailers must balance AI-powered recommendations and convenient digital experiences with engaging stores that encourage discovery and human connection. Understanding these evolving preferences helps businesses prepare their customer experience, marketing and retail teams for the holiday season. #RoseInt #PeopleMakingItHappen #HolidayShopping #GenZ 📷: Canva Pro, Shutterstock

Advancing technologies could force millions of U.S. workers to change jobs by 2035, as new McKinsey Global Institute found the which jobs could face career changes. AI and automation technologies could reduce worker demand by 21%, the equivalent of 36 million jobs. Further, 11 million workers might need to transition into different occupations. Agriculture, administrative support, food services and transportation are among the sectors facing potential disruptions. However, McKinsey also projected economic growth and emerging industries could create more than 40 million jobs during the same time frame. #RoseInt #PeopleMakingItHappen #WorkforceDisruptions #Automation 📷: Canva Pro, Shutterstock
