September 6. Resuming our first Sunday of the month discussions, this time discussing the word "obviously", almost unnoticed in a sentence yet far from innocent. Speculatively, "obviously" has an effect: it shuts down a discussion and even denies that there is a proposition.
“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.” Einstein, which I would rather put as “The world as we have created it is an expression of our knowledge. It cannot be changed without changing what we know.”
Can one suppose that a statement might be true even if it is possible that we would never know if it were true?
“Every person is a creature of the age in which he lives and few are able to raise themselves above the ideas of the time”, said Voltaire. The age of AI is proving him wrong.

Have you seen a valley green with spring?
Where my heart can go a-journeying
Over the shadows and the rain
To a blossom covered lane
So if you see them anywhere
Won't you lead me there"

First Sunday of the month discussion is on INTELLIGENCE

ALT What it is and where it is. Is intelligence an ontological system or an epistemological one? Is intelligence something that exists independently (like a physical property) or is it just a concept we use to describe certain behaviors? Inevitably, AI rears its head. We investigate what it is and whether there is a difference between human intelligence and AI, leading us to wonder what it means to be human: feelings, subjectivity, objectivity, purpose … Delving into the topic of intelligence is not just an intellectual exercise, but raises deep questions about the nature of thinking, understanding, and consciousness. Where there is thought, there is doubt, a critical tool for questioning assumptions and uncovering deeper truths, shaking the natural desire for certainty.
