This week, an editing job and a contract to script a horror comic fell into my lap like manna from heaven. Just goes to show that no matter how old you are, or how jaded and complacent you may become in your writing career, the potential for new things is always on the horizon.

Doing a limited edition with @ThunderstormBks is always an honor and a thrill. Book 3 of The Saga of Dead-Eye turned out beautifully. Paul and I began our publishing relationship way back in 2009. DE3 is my 22nd book with Thunderstorm, with more to come.
Hello #WritingCommunity I began my journey in the small press horror mags of the 1980s & 90s, wrote for Zebra Books for a while, and, after all these years, I’m still penning that Southern-Fried horror. I feel honored and blessed to still work in the storytelling biz these days.
Issue #33 of The Fear County Chronicle is out this morning. This one has a few words about maintaining things (like AC units and horror careers), news of the upcoming Vault of Southern-Fried Horror, and Part 2 of my essays on my days at Zebra Books. ronaldkelly.substack.com/p/t…

Lately, social media has been a lot like sitting on a bus stop bench watching your friends and total strangers engaging in emotional road rage and senseless drama collisions. Then AI pops in every now and then like an ambulance-chaser with too many billboards on the interstate.

While browsing this year's MiaPrep High School yearbook (my son is an online homeschooler), I discovered that one of the students' favorite books this year was @Adam_Cesare's Clown in a Cornfield. Kudos to Adam for reaching today's generation with some excellent horror fiction.
We recently found out that our little buddy Toby will need to have surgery to remove a tumor on his chest. You can help with a purchase at RKHORROR and get 20% off in the process. All sales through June 10th go towards Toby's surgery and post-surgery care. open.substack.com/pub/ronald…
Fact: A Craftsman T-240 at full throttle is akin to an Alien-grade cicada queen, and gasoline fumes and man sweat serve as a pheromone to hundreds of horny, shrieking, bug-eyed demons from Hell. That had to be the most chaotic 40 minutes of mowing I've experienced in 64 years.😬
Just posted a new essay this morning on The Fear County Chronicle. A little piece about old and new writers in the horror genre... in a Toy Story world. You can give it a read here! open.substack.com/pub/ronald…
