An idea from Atomic Habits:
When you fall in love with the process rather than the product, you don’t have to wait to give yourself permission to be happy. You can be satisfied anytime your system is running.

From @TheAthletic: Fox has a World Cup problem. How to solve it? Less Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Less Alexi Lalas. Then, their main studio show would be better, our columnist writes. nyti.ms/4uFBDZJ
Maybe it's the leadership nerd in me, but as I watch the World Cup, I'm less interested in the goals than I am in everything that makes the goals possible.
The preparation. The discipline. The trust. The willingness to sacrifice individual recognition for collective success.
What's fascinating is that these ideals seem to know no boundaries.
You see teams from every corner of the world, representing vastly different cultures and traditions. Yet the foundational ingredients of great teams remain remarkably consistent: commitment, accountability, trust, communication, and a shared purpose.
The principles are universal. The expression is cultural.
Some teams demonstrate passion differently. Some communicate differently. Some lead differently. Yet they're all pursuing the same thing: getting a group of individuals to perform as one.
As someone who spends a lot of time thinking about leadership and culture, I find that incredibly validating.
Great teams don't need everyone to be the best player. They need everyone committed to bringing their best to the collective.
Whether it's on a soccer field, in a restaurant, or inside an organization, success is still built the same way: ordinary people doing ordinary things extraordinarily well in service of something bigger than themselves.

Breen is so good. Ditto, Brunson. #Knicks
