Young people keep asking: will machines replace me?
If the game is purely efficiency, machines are efficient, and they will only get more so.
The opening is between efficiency and effectiveness. Take what the machine produces, and remember that relationships are not between humans and machines. They are between humans and humans, and humans and brands.

The biggest word in AI this year is inference. The industry has moved from training to inference, and from reasoning to what I’d call alleged reasoning.
It’s ironic, because inference is the ultimate human superpower.

A brand has to stand for something. Not a positioning statement. A spike in the sand.
Tell your whole organization what you stand for and what people can expect from you. You may not be for everybody. For the people you are for, you do not just say trust me. You earn it.
Without a concise, specific sense of your brand’s stand, you cannot deliver on the promise, because you do not know what promise you are making.

Jen MacLean shows off the new trailer for Farhaven, the cooperative game her studio, Dragon Snack Games, is creating.
A gorgeous steampunk fantasy world: worn, used, lived in. A robot who has seen better days. Machinery next to farms and villagers.

A retired NASA engineer who had worked on the Space Shuttle program for 25 years was hired by SpaceX at age 62. He described the first week as the most disorienting experience of his professional life.
At NASA, a design change required 3 meetings, 2 committees, a review board, and 6 to 18 months of documentation. At SpaceX, his new supervisor said "if it works, build it. If it doesn't, change it by Friday."
He sat at his desk after the first day and called his wife. He told her he felt like a man who had been swimming with ankle weights for 25 years and someone just cut them off. He could move. He could decide. He could build something in the morning and test it in the afternoon. The constraint that he had accepted as the nature of aerospace engineering turned out to be the nature of bureaucracy.
Within 6 months he had contributed to more design iterations than he had completed in his last 5 years at NASA. Not because he was working harder. Because the time between having an idea and testing the idea collapsed from months to hours. The same brain. The same knowledge. A different operating system.
He described a specific moment where he proposed a modification to a Raptor engine component. At NASA, the proposal would have entered a queue. At SpaceX, the modification was machined by the end of the day and tested by the following morning. He watched his idea become a physical object in 18 hours. At NASA, 18 hours would not have been enough to schedule the first meeting to discuss whether to schedule a meeting.
He told an interviewer: "I didn't get smarter when I went to SpaceX. I got faster. The intelligence was always there. The system was in the way."
The difference between SpaceX and NASA is not talent. NASA has extraordinary talent. The difference is the time between a thought and a test. SpaceX compresses it. NASA elongates it. The same engineer produces 10x more at SpaceX than at NASA because the bottleneck was never the engineer. It was the meetings about the meetings about the work.
You are overworked, stressed, and facing another deadline. Now someone asks you to change your mindset about change.
Stefan Pagels Christensen says it still starts with you. If you want a better life, happier colleagues, or a stronger body, nobody can do it on your behalf. Eventually you are the one who takes the action.
His goal when he works with a company is to deliver what is needed and then step out, leaving people fully capable of sustaining it themselves.

If you had told ten-year-old Jen she would one day be a CEO, she would have had no idea what that meant.
Her dad was a postal clerk who worked 70 and 80 hour days to put her through college. Her mom once wanted to go herself, and was told by her own mother that a woman did not need a degree.
Jen MacLean was the first in her family to go. She calls it a point of pride for both of her parents to open up the opportunities they never had.

A room full of game developers. Three questions.
Who uses AI in their studio? About half the hands went up.
Who has tried to measure the ROI? Half of those came down.
Who is confident in their numbers? Two hands.
Jen MacLean says using AI well means being the human in the loop, checking every output.

Is AI going to kill us all?
Jen MacLean put the question, only half joking, to a friend who has worked in AI for more than 15 years and has no financial stake in any frontier lab.
Her takeaway: the scariest outcomes show up when humans are not in the loop. Agents gone rogue. Tasks handed over that you never meant to authorize. A bad gaming experience for the people on the other end.
The real question is what level of risk we are willing to accept, as individuals and as a society.

If you have agency today and you are willing to use the tools that exist, the upside is enormous. The US economy is growing and the investment behind it is real.

If you want to build something big, you start in one place: ambition.
A CEO who does not have the ambition to go global, scale, or enter new markets will not do it. No strategy fixes that.
Brendan Dowling says the way to trigger it is a peer group. Call it peer pressure, or call it peers who respect each other saying: we could go faster, bigger, bolder.

The first part of your career is where you learn by doing, failing, and having a mentor.
A lot of organizations are designing those roles out. That is a choice, not an inevitability.
You can design AI to expand the capacity of your senior people and train your junior people at the same time. Both are possible. One just requires thinking about the decade instead of the quarter.

Early in my career I started giving field associates my personal cell number.
Other leaders told me not to. They'll call you with everything, they said.
They were wrong. In my entire career, not one field person called me with an issue that was not a real issue. Sexual harassment. Theft. Leadership behavior that needed to stop.
When the CEO gives you his number, you know he means it. And you do not waste it.
The best information in any company lives at the edge. Make it easy to reach you.

Introducing Griffin, the first model to pass the video Turing test.
48% of people who talked to it live thought it was a real human. Previous systems have had a pass rate <3%. It is #1 on NVIDIA's benchmark for full-duplex AI video.
It’s the first Human Interaction Model (HIM).
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The 48% figure and "video Turing test" claim are from Tavus's own study of 54 one-minute calls, not independently verified or using a standard protocol. Griffin-Lite leads NVIDIA's VideoFDB benchmark on their public leaderboard.

AI does not replace thinking. It augments it.
Days in the library stacks doing doctoral research. Collecting original works, piecing it together, building something from scratch. AI does that in seconds.
But it is still reporting relative to what you are thinking. The thinking has to come first.
The question is not whether to use it. It is whether you are bringing something worth augmenting.

Every generation before us needed a new set of skills to survive.
This one is different. Machines are coming for our intellect. Not our hands, not our routine tasks. Our intelligence.
Which means the skills that set you apart are not the technical ones.
They are the human ones.

This is not a project. It's a new way of working.
Whatever the transformation is, principles or AI, there's a journey people have to actually go on. A year, two, three. Rahim Hirji compares it to his great-grandfather getting on a boat.
But your core doesn't change. What you sell, who you are as a team, what the company is for. AI shifts the edges and the tasks. The goals stay put.
