Running in the heat may make it harder for female athletes to absorb iron, according to research by Alliance researchers. After a run at 35°C, levels of the iron-blocking hormone hepcidin roughly doubled vs. levels at 11°C. @ChrisMinson

When the season ends, effort can no longer be added to the story. Make these last days count. Strong finishes create strong foundations for what’s next.

The season is almost over. Make sure your effort doesn’t end before it does. Remember the goals you set, you’re running out of opportunities to become the player you said you wanted to be.

Preach!
Another red flag I see all the time is what I’d call performance training for the camera. I’ve seen it firsthand. Trainers go out on the field, set everything up, run one drill with a player, pack it up, and leave. Then you see the clip online and it’s framed like a full session. “This is what we worked on today.” No, it isn’t.
What you’re actually seeing is content being filmed, not development being built. Multiple cameras, different angles, everything designed to look sharp. But there’s no depth to it. No progression, no repetition, no real understanding of the player in front of them.
That’s the difference people need to understand. Real training is messy. It’s repetitive. It’s not always exciting to watch. It doesn’t need three cameras because it’s not built for social, it’s built for the player.
If the focus is the footage, not the player, you’ve got it backwards. At that point, you’re not coaching, you’re producing content. And those are two completely different things.
You’re either developing players or you’re building a following. The best coaches don’t need to choose.

Continuing our countdown of the stories that defined this season of "Stories of Impact"! 🎨🧬
We’re still buzzing over our @TheWebbyAwards nomination for Best Series, and we’re highlighting the incredible people who helped us get here.
For this film, our crew headed to El Paso, Texas, to document @ArtBioCollab. Seeing walls that once symbolized division reimagined as vibrant "windows" into science and community pride was a season standout 🌵✨
Huge shout out to the crew for their vision, and to the @SimonsFdn for supporting the intersection of art, science, and culture!
