A highly recommended read to understand the model used by the Dagalo family in sustaining the RSF.
Over the four years of war in Sudan, the Rapid Support Forces have circled around one main issue: how can they mount a challenge to the historic government in Khartoum? For the Dagalo brothers, this required military gains but also going beyond the archetype of the rebel group from the state’s margins, and this needed an ever tightening grip on power. Over the last six months, Mada Masr has spoken to sources inside the RSF leadership, former advisors, tribal leaders, Darfuri administrators and those close to fighters who have defected to tell the story of the attempt to build an alternative center of gravity in the west of Sudan and how that gravity has begun to destabilize everything around it. storage.googleapis.com/madam…

My very early prediction is that Sudan's ERRs get next year's Nobel Prize, especially if Trump truly commits himself to the cause of peace in Sudan. It will raise their profile and be a thumb in the eye of the President who wants the prize all to himself. insidephilanthropy.com/home/…

Click to see video of farmers across Sudan explaining the consequences of erratic rainfall on crops. It's a terrifying warning of new hunger coming to a country overwhelmed by its multidimensional crisis. A brilliant report from @AyinSudan
Farmers across Sudan are desperate, gathering to pray for rain amid a punishing dry season. Rain-fed agriculture covers over three-quarters of Sudan's cultivated land and roughly two-thirds of the country's food supply, making this autumn a harsh test for farmers in Kordofan, Darfur, Gedaref, and Blue Nile. The FAO recorded a 30% rain deficit affecting 70% of Gedaref's agricultural areas, and a 20% deficit hitting 40% of Sennar's farmland, two states that together produce a quarter of Sudan's maize. The unpredictable rains have pushed the FAO to identify 14 areas in North Darfur, South Darfur, and South Kordofan as currently at risk of famine. #Sudan #KeepEyesOnSudan Read our Report: 3ayin.com/en/drought-2-/

Drone strike on frontline city of El Obeid, capital of N Kordofan, now the main theatre of war. Ground war is stuck there + drone war is hotting up. Both armies rely on drones = reliance on arms dealers and foreign states Heartbreaking report from Ayin on the human cost of drones
In El Obeid, North Kordofan, people displaced from West Kordofan sought refuge in shelters across the city, hoping to find safety. But in the early hours of September 25, drones struck a displacement shelter, killing two people and injuring around 20 others, according to local authorities. The North Kordofan government says the attack was carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), while the RSF did not immediately comment. In this video, the families of those killed, injured survivors, and other displaced people recount what happened inside the shelter and how the place they fled to for safety became another site of fear and destruction.

Replying to @Disney
@Disney you are investing in a country and government credibly accused based on overwhelming forensic evidence of directly aiding the committal of genocide in Darfur by the RSF. Please don’t do this

“We love what Abu Dhabi stands for.” Amazing to see another massive American brand embrace the UAE, after the NBA. Clearly the advocacy movement around Sudan has not impacted Wall Street’s consciousness one iota.

Further evidence that the UAE has been doubling down on Sudan’s poorly-performing Hemedti since June…
Another sign of Ethiopia’s 🇪🇹 growing involvement in Sudan’s 🇸🇩 war is the recent refurbishment of Asosa Airport’s runway markings, suggesting increased air traffic. UAE govt-linked 🇦🇪 IL-76TD cargo aircraft have already made multiple visits to the airport within the past weeks.

The more #fuel Libya imports, the scarcer fuel becomes for honest folks. Right now, in the Zawiya area, barely 50 kilometers west of Tripoli, ordinary citizens must pay 15 dinars per liter, exactly 100 times the official subsidized price. In July 2026 alone, the country spent $1bn on fuel imports, in addition to $400mm worth of domestically refined fuel … a pace that suggests an annual bill of more than $16bn. This paradox (ever-larger imports alongside ever-scarcer fuel) is because Libya’s fuel-smuggling networks have grown so powerful that they now dominate the fuel economy. They have swallowed it almost entirely. In other words, the Libyan population itself is increasingly being pushed out of its own fuel subsidy program.

Western governments aren't publicly confronting the United Arab Emirates for arming the genocidal Rapid Support Forces in Sudan, but a man on the street does. xitter.cf/DropSiteNews/status/20…
A Sudanese man confronted Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, during a family visit to London, shouting: “Stop killing Sudanese,” Middle East Eye reports. “The UAE is killing Sudanese people… Mohammed bin Zayed, they are killing people in my country,” he said. Someone accompanying the Emirati ruler responds: “Fuck you, fuck your people… motherfucker, black bitch.” (Details linked in longer post linked below)
