The LORD says to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”
The LORD will stretch forth Your strong scepter from Zion, saying, “Rule in the midst of Your enemies.”

With my mouth I will give thanks abundantly to the LORD;
And in the midst of many I will praise Him.
For He stands at the right hand of the needy,
To save him from those who judge his soul.

Oh give us help against the adversary,
For deliverance by man is in vain.
Through God we will do valiantly,
And it is He who shall tread down our adversaries.
Psalms 108:12-13

To compete in sport is to strive together, not to strive against.
At its best, competition brings out the best performance and attitude in each competitor.
At its worst, competition insists that the only value worth pursuing is to win, thus bringing out the worst of my nature.
Gambling is an insidious evil.
Gambling on sport is even worse.
It corrupts everything it touches.
The only one who consistently wins is the owner of the casino, sports book, or gaming app.

The era of “amateur sport” and its ethic has now departed Power 4 college revenue producing sports, and it will not come back.
If you prefer a more amateur, non-professional approach, simply seek out other divisions or other sports. D-II, D-III, NAIA, D-I (FCS), or NCCAA.
