appliances should never beep, unless they are in danger of melting down or setting the house on fire. the dishwash machine should not beep when it is finished washing dishes, the washing machine should not beep when the clothes are done. not even the oven should beep at the end of a timed oven cook, unless you extremely explicitly tell it to. this trend of modern beeping appliances is a plague on the land, they are machines and they need to shut the fuck up.
