On Monday the White House Government Transparency Task Force released FBI records of a meeting at CIA headquarters on November 3, 2023. Jack Smith's prosecutors sat down with John Brennan to discuss his serving as an expert witness on classified documents in the case against President Trump. The Bureau filed the meeting under Plasmic Echo, its code name for the documents case. The two FBI agents' handwritten notes, attached to the Bureau's typed summary of the meeting, were blank but for the date, the location and the names of those present. The summary says the original agent notes are kept in that attachment. No 302 has been released. Bureau procedure requires both. I know what Brennan did because I have spent years documenting it. On July 28, 2016, Brennan briefed President Obama on intelligence that Hillary Clinton had approved a plan to tie Donald Trump to Russia and distract from her own email scandal. Brennan later wrote it down himself. John Ratcliffe, then Director of National Intelligence, declassified the notes on October 6, 2020. Three days after the Obama briefing, on July 31, 2016, the FBI opened Crossfire Hurricane. Brennan then ran the CIA compartment that produced the intelligence assessment saying Vladimir Putin and his government "aspired to help President-elect Trump's election chances." Brennan picked the analysts. He briefed Obama again. Brennan kept the report behind that fabricated assessment inside his compartment for five months. Most of those working on the assessment outside it first read Brennan's fabricated assessment on December 19, 2016. The assessment rested on part of one sentence, secondhand, from a sub-source. "Five people read it five ways," a senior CIA operations officer told the House investigators. On May 23, 2017, Brennan told the House Intelligence Committee under oath that the Steele dossier "was not in any way used as a basis" for the assessment. The assessment, finished on December 30, 2016, cites the dossier as the fourth bullet of evidence for its central judgment, and summarizes it in the classified Annex A. On October 19, 2020, two weeks before the election, Brennan signed the letter of fifty-one former intelligence officers. It said the story of Hunter Biden's laptop had all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation. Brennan was the witness Jack Smith's prosecutors sat down with at Langley in November 2023. The Bureau's summary records: "No documents were shown in this meeting." He would have told a jury that the classified documents President Trump held put CIA assets' lives at risk, and that no one outside a SCIF should ever see them. The jury would have taken the former Director's word for it. In 2016, while Brennan ran the CIA, the Agency's man on the Bureau's books was Stefan Halper. Halper fabricated stories about Trump's advisers links to Russian intelligence and taped them without their knowledge. Halper was paid by the CIA slush fund, Pentagon's Office of Net Assessment. They created fake government contracts to pay Brennan's operative Halper. The 851 footnotes in his Pentagon study attributed not a single interview Halper claimed to have conducted, and the FBI left his quarterly evaluation boxes empty while renewing him year after year. Now the documents about CIA coordination with Jack Smith are out, there are at least three possibilities for the blank FBI notes. The agents took no notes, violating procedure; they took notes that were withheld so that President Trump's lawyers could not discover the conversation; or the notes were buried in a restricted file. Brennan is under subpoena to appear before the federal grand jury in Fort Pierce, Florida, on Thursday, October 15, 2026. The prosecutors have told his lawyer that their inquiry, into whether intelligence and law enforcement officials conspired to violate President Trump's civil rights, covers issues at Mar-a-Lago and beyond. Brennan is a subject of it, and a target of a separate false-statements investigation in Washington over his testimony to Congress in 2023. The newly-released documents are very significant for the Grand Conspiracy chargers because they override the statute of limitations. The 2016 and 2017 conduct is largely out of time. A conspiracy charge survives only if someone acted on the agreement within the last five years. November 2023 falls inside that window. John Brennan, who briefed Obama on the Clinton Plan in July 2016 and built the fake Trump-Russia counter intelligence case against President-elect Trump, was in a room at Langley seven years later ready to send President Trump to prison to keep the lies sealed.
