Meet MAGAt and registered Republican John J. Griffin, a former senior producer for CNN who worked on the network's high-profile morning show New Day. Despite working for a mainstream news outlet, Griffin secretly lived a dark double life that unraveled in December 2021 when he was arrested by federal authorities and accused of orchestrating a deeply disturbing child sex abuse and trafficking scheme. The allegations also directly implicated the victim's own adoptive mother Heather Carriker, who conspired with Griffin to facilitate the exploitation of her 9-year-old daughter. The allegations against Griffin and the Carriker involved a coordinated effort to transport the minor across state lines for the purpose of exploitation. Federal and local investigations revealed that financial transactions were used to facilitate the travel from Nevada to Vermont. Following the investigation, the child's adoptive mother was arrested by authorities in August 2020 and subsequently faced multiple felony charges. Griffin was arrested by federal authorities in December 2021. Both individuals were convicted in court; the mother pleaded guilty to charges including child abuse and attempted sexual assault, receiving a sentence in April 2023 of eight to 20 years in prison. Griffin pleaded guilty to one count of using interstate commerce to entice a minor and was sentenced in June 2023 to 19.5 years in federal prison.

Meet MAGAt Scott C. Hughes, a 54-year-old married Baptist pastor and former adolescent youth worker from Somerset, Kentucky. He is facing a series of felony charges including first-degree sodomy, second-degree sodomy, third-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse, human trafficking involving commercial sexual activity with a victim under 18, and incest. The detailed allegations against Hughes span several years and involve multiple victims. Authorities from the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office state that the initial investigation uncovered a pattern of sexual abuse involving minors that dates back to 2018. Hughes exploited his positions of trust, which included serving as the pastor of Pleasant View Baptist Church, First Baptist Bronston, and Eubank Baptist Church, as well as working in an adolescent drug rehabilitation program for Sunrise Children's Services. The case grew even more disturbing after Hughes was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center. A new arrest warrant was served following a detailed report from an adult male who came forward to report that Hughes systematically abused him for years, with the horrific behavior starting when the victim was just 10 years old. Public records and local reports confirm that Hughes is married and has children, making the criminal charge of incest particularly grievous as investigators continue to look for additional victims.

🚨 90 YEARS IN PRISON: A former gymnastics coach who secretly filmed at least 10 young girls undressing and using the bathroom at their gym has received the maximum federal sentence. 📍 Purvis, Mississippi Sean Gardner, 39, pleaded guilty to three counts of producing child sexual abuse material after investigators discovered recordings made with a hidden camera inside a gymnastics studio bathroom between 2017 and 2018. On October 14, a federal judge sentenced him to three consecutive 30-year prison terms. According to an FBI affidavit, investigators recovered approximately 50 videos and 400 photographs from Gardner’s residence. Some of the children were younger than 12. But the disturbing part of this case isn’t limited to what investigators found. It’s how long concerns about this coach had been circulating. Parents and a former employer raised concerns about Gardner’s behavior with gymnastics authorities years before his arrest. Gardner later coached at the prominent Chow’s Gymnastics and Dance Institute in Iowa, where former students made additional sexual misconduct allegations. He was suspended in 2022 and arrested by the FBI in 2025. Those separate Iowa allegations have not resulted in criminal charges. Gardner has now been sentenced to 90 years.
