BREAKING: Amazon is out of compute until beyond 2028.
Andy Jassy told a16z co-founder Ben Horowitz directly.
Not "supply is tight."
Not "we're scaling."
Out. Until beyond 2028.
And Horowitz's read on it: this is nothing like the dot-com bubble.
Back then, the network was built before the users showed up.
In AI, demand is outrunning everything anyone can build or buy.
The largest cloud provider on earth can't keep up.
If Amazon is sold out through 2028, what does that mean for every startup that still needs GPU access to survive?
Who gets the compute and who gets left behind?

$ASTS - Kinda surprised the company put this out there. Don't get me wrong: Very positive news but the market doesn't seem to believe it. Current sat coverage is 12 + 3 waiting launch + 3 before the end of year? so figure 18 by end of year? My notes was always 25 for beta

To put this in perspective, this like telling Lockheed they cannot be part of skunk works because an official was bribed by upper management. Now the government has no one to build x secret project. That is why this is likely to be overturned

PSA: Do NOT use public WiFi or shady DNS servers for the next few weeks.
SSL is practically broken and you can be attcked with an MITM attack. Your ISP and other intermediaries can also spy on you. Use a trusted VPN.
It will take a few days at least to flush out this crap CA.
Instead of using 384 bit random private keys, they used private keys like the super secret, unguessable number 4.
They are a cryptography company. They had one job. They're selling Post-Quantum Cryptography while doing shit like this lmao.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
SSL/TLS is not broken. The vulnerability involved eight eMudhra intermediate certificates, which major browsers and operating systems (Chrome, Firefox, Apple, and Microsoft) had already blocked by October 20. Updated devices are protected against these MITM attacks.

You get 10 seconds to evacuate and can only grab ONE thing.
I'm grabbing the notebook that's survived more bad decisions than I have.
Inside it:
A construction company.
A snooker business.
Merchandise concepts.
Pages of 2 a.m. maths explaining why Idea #47 was definitely different from Ideas #1-46.
Every bad idea is still in there.
And every bad idea is followed by another page where I'm absolutely certain I've finally figured it out.
I've never opened that notebook and found success.
I've only ever opened it and found another attempt.
At some point it stopped being a notebook.
It became a record of every time I refused to quit.
It's proof that optimism survives evidence.
@RallyOnChain what's the one thing you'd panic-grab, and what would it instantly tell a stranger about who you are?

we’ve released right-to-left checkout on @dodopayments.
why we built it: translating the words is only part of making checkout work in another language. the layout needs to follow how your customer reads, too.
→ checkout now renders right to left in Arabic and Hebrew.
→ the whole page mirrors, including the layout, navigation and order summary.
→ email addresses, codes and phone numbers keep their natural reading order.
if you’re selling to Arabic or Hebrew-speaking customers, your checkout can now follow the reading direction they’re used to.

GoDaddy CEO Aman Bhutani (@sh0kunin) predicts that in 2027 small businesses discover their biggest new customer is AI:
"In 2027, your average microbusiness, which is smaller or very, very small business, is going to realize that they have a new customer. And that customer is AI."
"There will be more traffic coming to them through agents than humans."

When markets are growing quickly, moats don't really matter. It doesn't make sense for leaders to invest in new spaces. And tons of whitespace gets created.
When markets slow down, most moats can't save you anyway.
Don't worry too much about moats.

Surprisingly, the gap between Chinese open-weight models and US closed models appears *to be widening again* on cybersecurity benchmarks.
Epoch AI’s Cyber ECI shows a roughly 6-point gap in early 2025 versus 11 points now: GLM-5.3 scores 160, while the US closed frontier reaches 171.
Open models are improving, but in this domain, the leaders have pulled further ahead.

Researchers from @Nokia @BellLabs, @Mysten_Labs, @SuiNetwork & collaborators from leading Universities just made an exciting breakthrough:
Prove things about yourself to different people & services without revealing your identity, using technology deployable on real-world hardware, like old mobile phones, and whatever infrastructure we have today.
This is especially important for finance, health, AI and blockchains, where we want to verify users or agents without exposing their personal information to the entire world!
Congrats to our own @Mahdi_seda

If u don’t think haze hurts sg coz its not sg’s fault and sg does not control where the wind blows
Think again
SG gets hurt the most coz its position as an expensive SEA/Asia trade/finance/travel/events hub

When building Replit Slides in February, I did something novel
Instead of using a framework, or templates (like every competitor)
…I figured out how to write flexible web code that could be exported to PPTX
Results: #1 slide maker <8min. Gamma has since copied our approach.
BREAKING: Replit by @Replit ranks at #2 on Slides Arena with an Elo of 1279!
It is the highest-rated slides builder under 8 minutes and generates decks ~24% faster than #1, establishing a new Pareto frontier for Speed vs. Preference. Replit places ahead of Gamma 5 by @GammaApp, Manus 1.6 by @ManusAI, and Claude Opus 4.6 by @Anthropic, trailing only Playyy.
Congrats to the @Replit team!

Aaron Levie (@levie) says keeping AI inside the IT budget puts an artificial cap on what it can do:
"We're well past the point where the IT organization can hold the entire budget of AI. And that's actually a healthy thing."
"IT budgets kind of run at, depending on the industry, maybe... two to 5% of sort of total revenue, depending on the kind of industry that you're in. And that's obviously... an artificial cap on what AI's potential could be."
"Maybe you want AI alone to be 5% of your total revenue. So that would be a doubling of the IT budget."
"Well, to do that, then you ultimately need the line of business to own the budget and own the sort of deployment of where do they want, you know, AI being used in the organization."
"So I think we're in this renaissance actually of the IT organization, which is your job now is to bring kind of, you know, some form of intelligence to the entire business and be the sort of experts in the technology and what you're going to be able to deliver with that technology."
- Aaron Levie, Box co-founder and CEO, on CXOTalk in an interview uploaded June 15.

China’s frontier models already run on China’s own chips.
“Remember, the GLM-5 paper is almost a year old at this point. They say: ‘From the first day, GLM-5 is full-stack adapted to Chinese GPU ecosystems. We have successfully completed deep optimization, spanning from underlying kernels to upper-level inference frameworks, across seven mainstream domestic chip platforms, including Huawei Ascend, Moore Threads, Hygon, Cambricon, Kunlunxin, MetaX and Enflame.’”
“It’s not necessarily NVIDIA GPUs and kernels we’re talking about. They’re serving this model, at least they claim, for many months on seven different domestic Chinese accelerators.”
“People thought it was impossible that it’s served on GPUs by a Chinese lab, because Chinese labs aren’t that GPU rich. But turns out they’re using Chinese hardware. They plumb through everything, the kernels, the systems, while serving those models efficiently.”
