ANE in Colombia recently held a session with policemen at the National Police Directorate. Over 100 policemen participated and learned about how D2D can provide connectivity in hard to reach and limited coverage areas. ane.gov.co/SitePages/det-not…
Some more developments from ANE out of Colombia. The ANE published a very length, comprehensive paper on the current state of D2D internationally and the current impact of such a solution for Colombia. It took into account existing regulatory access from US, Can., Aus. and Chile.

The training included implementation methods of D2D, the different frequencies involved and regulatory advancements. This agenda is similar to those seen in places like USA with FirstNet. Colombians understand the importance of Direct to Device technology.

$ASTS $SPCX - Let's discuss Panama. First off, let's explain why the small nation can benefit from direct to device technology. While small, there are many rural communities with diverse geography, including mountains, islands, rain forests, volcanoes and cattle ranches. (1/n)

The two things to look for going forward: 1. AST and Tigo agreeement or filings. Tigo has operations in many countries, so these agreements can be complex and take time. 2. Responses to the S Band Consultation.

Kevin is 100% correct here. As some may know, I have been hinting at this. You can check my past posts. SpaceX requested 15x15. AST has the middle 10 MHz. AST was fine with 10. Starlink was not. As a concession to AST, Anatel shifted AST to the top half of the 2 GHz band...
$ASTS: At the same time, Anatel also expanded @AST_SpaceMobile's MSS S band authorization to gain another 5+5 MHz, such that both @Starlink Mobile as well as AST SpaceMobile both have 15+15 MHz S band authorizations. Note that Starlink had initially requested 30+30 MHz, corresponding to the total frequencies in the S-band available for these applications in Brazil. Ultimately, the 30+30 MHz is now split evenly between the world's leading two D2D technology providers. telesintese.com.br/anatel-li…

It is not true that SpaceX has the full S-Band spectrum. I'm not sure why they are promoting that as a fact.

FYI - Here was my post 6 days ago hinting at this. I decided to wait until it was officially decided.
Some important developments here .. $ASTS impacted. Will share as those developments mature. Should be win win for both AST and $SPCX..

This will be a major inflection point in the history of telecommunications. It has slowly been in the cards, but this feels like the final domino. The whole competitive dynamics of Wireless telecommunications is about to change.
We announced an agreement to acquire a nationwide low-band spectrum license portfolio that will pave the way for @Starlink to become a major mobile carrier in the US. With this new spectrum and our Gen2 constellation, Starlink Mobile can ensure Americans have access to high-speed mobile broadband no matter where they are → spacex.com/updates#starlink-…
