Calling Grassroots Referees and Referee Development Officers (UK) 📢
For my final PhD study I'm looking to hear from grassroots referees and RDOs based in the UK regarding mental health support.
Participation involves two online workshops (approx. 60 minutes each)....

There is no room in football for such appalling behaviour. No wonder so many are leaving the sport. #norefnogame

Just when you think you've seen it all with #referee abuse, something like this happens. A young official, learning the game, assaulted by a grown man. This is absolutely shocking and shows why more needs to be done around the safety of young officials. This shouldn't happen!

For any #sportsofficials #referees #matchofficials and #umpires as well as any sports federations and governing bodies - 'Managing and Developing Sports Officials' will be published in early summer. It is aims to bridge the gap between research and practice for sports officials.

Excellent day in London presenting to students from Trinity University. Great to have so many engaged students and to meet @TingleJK and team!
So happy to hear a talk from @RobynBate about Match Officials & #MentalHealth. The presentation was engaging & challenged our students to bring their brains to class. I loved the exercise asking students to design an intervention to improve the mental health of match officials.

Do you have 5 mins spare? Could you help out my undergrad project students by completing their online questionnaire about sports brands. Seeking responses from absolutely anyone (sporty or not) and of any age.

A ReTweet would also be massively appreciated.

Transparent reporting of these figures @EnglandFootball. It's concerning that allegations of serious misconduct are up 9% on the 2021-22 season as are allegations of serious offences against a match official. This is a global problem that needs attention.

Football has an abuse problem. Particularly when it comes to referees, abuse is ingrained in the culture & accepted as 'just part of the job'. Referee abuse is detrimental to not only the individual, but also the sport (no ref, no football). #EnoughIsEnough

Please give it a retweet but most of all, watch it.
