Another mega was found in Kent this week, a Zitting Cisticola at Foreness! It was a good week of Summer birding in any case as the Bonaparte’s Gull returned and Caspian Tern was seen at two locations. Full highlights on kentos.org.uk. #kentbirding #birdguides

Dungeness. An early morning visit to Hanson Hide found 3 gorgeous Water Rail chicks unable to find there way out even though the door was open. I ushered 2 of them out but there is always one that wants to be awkward.

Friends of Oare Marshes, a pair of Barn swallow nests in East Hide again this year. It was my third time to open the flaps last few days as the pair trying to access to their new home frantically. Please leave the flaps open when you leave. Please retweet to spread the message.

The Oslo (Fornebu) Hume’s Warbler is still going strong and has the company of 2 tristis Chiffchaff. This morning it was -16C with 15cm of snow but they are still alive!
The Hume’s and one of the Chiffs enjoyed the sun together this morning and also seemed to share body warmth.
