Birmingham's culture just doesn't look or sound the way Londoners want it to. Grateful to live in the hometown of Vanley Burke, Barbara Walker, Pogus Caesar, Jonathan Coe, Kit de Waal, Emmy Bridgwater, Conroy Maddox and Benjamin Zephaniah - to name just a few of our icons
Also striking, from outside, is Birmingham’s complete absence from any sort of national cultural relevance: no literature to speak of, no notable music for half a century.
Edinburgh, or Liverpool, or Bristol or Belfast or Newcastle or Glasgow all have specific cultural resonances, but the second city may as well not exist.

Yesterday, Youtube's animated logo (aka "Yoodle") celebrated indie animation.
This little animation was made by @Worthikids.
And it redirected to a playlist, different for each country, and with different animations (see links in comments).
Still getting used to the fact that while Zoom needs two clicks to end a call, during which time I traditionally say my goodbyes, Teams and Meet both close immediately and make you look like you've suddenly dashed out of the room.

'YES, MADAM' is outstanding. Someone give that actor an oscar.

Every part of the internet feels crap now compared to even 10 years ago. Maybe it's just rose-tinted nostalgia.. but eBay, Etsy, all social platforms, fun design stuff, journalism etc is all worse. Did a bubble burst and everyone gave up? Did we all get old and fed up?

Is this the same Reservoir Dogs where a bunch of egotistical crooks in cheap suits reminisce about seventies music and the free use of racist terminology before falling out and shooting each other?
Nigel Farage & the Reform boys are coming to parliament ...and they are planning a Reservoir Dogs style show of force.
One party insider says "the foxes are in the hen house".
They have drawn up a hit list of 90 Labour seats they are targeting next

We have just donated this spare print of King Chiles to a charity shop in Bearwood.
This would be a perfect gift for anyone who is into fine art and/or Adrian Chiles. Imagine this hanging on your bedroom wall, staring at you 😍
