3 % inflation. NATO growing and more solid than ever. huge investment in tech and infrastructure. And Rs? Screeching about Hunter Biden's laptop and defunding the FBI. Simply pathetic.

About #DebtCeiling Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) tells CNN: "Almost 25% of the national debt accumulated over the history of the United States, 230 years, was accumulated during the four years of Donald Trump".. says GOP leaders "need to face the responsibility to pay for it"

The next time you hear conservatives blame Democrats for inflation being at a 40-year high, politely remind them that corporate profits are at a 70-year high.

BREAKING: Shell has reported profits of $9.5B for Q3 2022 compared to $4.1B for Q3 2021. It isn't inflation. It's not a labor shortage. This is 100% corporate greed.

Why are Dems so reluctant to blame inflation on one of its major causes — corporations raising prices faster than their costs in order to fatten their profit margins? If they want to win this November, they must hone in on corporate greed and underscore their plan to fight it.

Corporate profits only accounted for roughly 11% of price growth from 1979 to 2019. Today, record corporate profits account for 53.9% of price increases. Folks, corporate greed is driving inflation, not workers asking for better wages.

Republicans in Congress claim that inflation is due to Biden’s spending, and wage increases. Baloney. The major domestic cause of inflation is corporations that have been taking advantage of inflation by raising their prices higher than increasing costs. Don’t be fooled.

Yes! We in the Vermont House of Representatives just voted unanimously to provide $644,826 in humanitarian aid to Ukraine. That’s $637,077 which equals $1 for every Vermont citizen and $1749 from sales of Russian liquor till it was pulled off the shelves. We stand with Ukraine!
So nice to have devotions again on the House floor after two years! Leading us off was Rep Caleb Elder playing his fiddle. Beautiful! #vtpoli
Yes! I was proud to be a yes vote for Prop 5, the constitutional amendment to protect reproductive liberty. The vote was 107-41. Vermonters have the final say in the November election. #vtpoli

"I told the governor, 'You've got to stop talking about unmasking as though it's a reward, because it perpetuates this belief that masks are somehow a penalty for the pandemic,' " she said. “…actually, it is quite literally the least we can do to protect other people."
A data scientist studying how delta spread through the summer and fall found that, among states with similar vaccination rates, those with statewide mask mandates did better at containing the spread. n.pr/3F5vsp4
This.
Let me get this straight: Our politicians will pass a $778 billion annual defense budget without batting an eye, but we’re supposed to believe we “can’t afford” paid family leave, universal pre-K, or climate action?

Reflections on Jan.6 attempted white nationalist coup: We must guard against false symmetries here. This was an orchestrated riot in defense of a reigning and waning tyrant & white supremacist. It is in no way akin 2 protests demanding justice and resisting racism and oppression.
