Today, @ducklabs_com is joining @awscloud. The move is expected to be completed by early September.
Joining AWS gives DuckLabs the resources and reach to bring DuckDB, DuckLake, and the Quack protocol to many more developers and organizations – and to pursue ideas at a scale that would have been difficult for us to reach alone.
The DuckLabs team will remain together in Amsterdam and will continue working for the Duck Stack community as an AWS subsidiary.
Most importantly, #DuckDB and the other open source components of the Duck Stack will remain free and open source under the MIT license, with the non-profit DuckDB Foundation continuing its stewardship of the projects.
This is a significant moment for DuckLabs and the Duck Stack community. It marks the end of one chapter that we are immensely proud of, and the beginning of another that we believe will take DuckDB much further.

I never shared my thoughts about coding agents and there is a lot to be said in this topic. Some thoughts:
For most of my life the real cost of building something that solves a hard problem inside a large organization was not always about typing. It was often inventing it in the first place, then coordination. [...] Execution overhead was almost always dwarfed by social overhead. You spent your best energy earning permission to start, and then had to do it again and again just to continue. Coding agents remove this traditional permission system. They benefit some while simultaneously creating unmanageable chaos for others.

We just launched Sites into Codex!
Software creation was always about more than writing code. Sites in Codex fundamentally gives the power of end-to-end software creation to every user, no matter their technical fluency.
These Sites are fully deployed to a URL, private to workspaces, come with authentication, can have static files, and can store dynamic data in databases.
It is in preview for business and enterprise teams and will be rolling out to all workspaces over the next day. Give it a try by typing @ Sites into Codex and ask it to build anything!
This project took a massive amount of effort across hundreds of people at OpenAI - proud that we were able to get this out and excited to see what you all build with it!

An example of UK government being great. Ministry of Justice needed to do messy data linking more quickly and reliably than existing methods. Developed the system. Released it. Now it's used all over the place, including by us at @TheDataCity. It's great! github.com/moj-analytical-se…

New blog post where I explain why I disagree with this, and why I have slightly longer timelines to AGI than many of my guests.
I think continual learning is a huge bottleneck to the usefulness of these models, and extended computer use may take years to sort out.

You could specify running patterns as part of the installation and design the device to provide a percentage of heat load; you do run the risk of people over-using their boiler. But if you've designed the system properly people who should do so would cost themselves money.
