Meet Emmy Sidekick: A Little Companion for Your Everyday Breaks
There is a particular kind of pause that happens throughout the day: a download is finishing, a task is taking a moment, or you simply need to step away from what you are doing. Emmy Sidekick gives those small gaps a little personality.
Submitted for review in the Mac App Store. Soon available.

If you exported Xcode's agent skills before Xcode 27.1, export them again.
uikit-app-modernization is now app-resizability, and it adds SwiftUI and iPhone Duo support.
ALT Apple slide titled Agentic Coding with an app-resizability 27.1 badge. A prompt reads "Make my app follow all resizability best practices" and the agent replies "Updating main screen references". A code diff replaces UIScreen.main.scale with traitCollection.displayScale.
Did you know you can down-swipe out the other controls from the combined battery/wifi/carrier icon on the iPhone Duo home screen ?

Device Hub in Xcode 27.1 has a hidden Action Bar specifically for iPhone Duo.
It gives you a lot more control over the device angle, and you can quickly switch between 5 device poses with keyboard shortcuts. There’s also a “Table Mode” control.
To enable:
defaults write com\.apple.dt.Devices com\.apple.dt.coredevicepop.useInternalV68ActionBar -bool true
and restart Device Hub.
The iPhone Duo simulator also comes with a hidden HingeStatePoster wallpaper.
You can check your iPhone DUO OLED panels from day 1, all tests fill the whole panels width and height.

✅ IRS cut announced 🇵🇹
Prime Minister Montenegro announced he will lower personal income tax rates on the first 6 brackets (€400M package).
Because the tax is progressive, higher earners also benefit on the lower slices of their income.
Change is retroactive to Jan 2026 and will show up in November paycheques + Christmas bonus via reduced withholding tax.
Just curious how they are going to fill this hole of €400M elsewhere.

Instead of checking my phone first thing, I set up an agent to make a "morning newspaper".
It prints while I sleep. I used grokbot @bot to pull from my calendar and email
I made it available if you wanna try it 👇
