Australian miners are warning of material risks to the industry and fast rising costs from diesel shortages, but the price of the fuel has hardly budged in the African nation of Guinea, writes Mining Reporter Brad Thompson in the @Australian.
Robex $RXR CEO Matthew Wilcox highlights that there are currently no issues with fuel supply and price hikes in the country.
“Supply chains remain uninterrupted while (diesel) prices have increased about 5% to date,” he told the paper.

A compelling African development soon to list on the #ASX: @RobexGold (TSXV: $RBX)
This week, Canaccord released updated research on Robex with a C$3.70/share target, discussing the company's updated DFS and plans to list on the ASX. "Robex has released the updated DFS for the 85%-owned Kiniero Gold Project in the Siguiri Basin of Guinea," analyst Paul Howard wrote. "The study is a refresh under new management and greatly expands on the previous DFS from 2023, with the company fast tracking a build in anticipation of first gold in the DecQ'25. The company has also paid off the C$29m outstanding Taurus debt (with funds from a recent C$34m placement) and has agreed on a new debt package with Sprott Lending for up to US$130m."
"Other than WAF's Kiaka, we are not aware of any other ASX gold projects in Africa expecting to commence production in 2025; so Kiniero, assuming RBX lists on the ASX, could be in a very small peer group coming into production at a time of buoyant gold prices. We also note the current unhedged status of both assets, and heightened M&A and investment activity in the West African gold space."

Canaccord has initiated coverage of @RobexGold (TSXV: $RBX) with a C$3.75/share target.
"Robex Resources is a Toronto-listed, Australian-based developer primarily focused on the 85%-owned Kiniero Gold Project (15% Guinea Government), in the well-endowed Siguiri Basin of Guinea. The company intends to list on the ASX in 2025 and has commenced early construction works on the project, situated ~30km southeast of Predictive Discovery’s 5.4Moz Bankan Gold Project," analysts Paul Howard and William Jones write.
"In April 2024, a strategic change of focus for RBX occurred, commensurate with the arrival of new management and a refreshed Board of Directors. Led by Matt Wilcox, who along with a loyal team of mine builders that have recent experience in building numerous African gold mines, is streamlining RBX's portfolio to focus wholly on Kiniero with a view to reinvigorate the previous Kiniero DFS from June 2023. Supported by 2024 resource growth, which is ongoing, we expect RBX to deliver an upscaled and updated DFS for Kiniero imminently. Early construction works are already underway with the goal of producing gold at Kiniero by the end of 2025. We also anticipate an ASX listing in early 2025 and potential TSX delisting thereafter."
