NASCAR instant messaging teams about an issue that has been happening for years at this point instead of just penalizing it when it started
If I had a nickel for every time NASCAR made a decision for a penalty that went against all other instances in the 2026 season as well as additional past precedent Id have two nickels
lmfao the Bubba Wallace penalty gets even more stupid
A new episode of "Hauler Talk" has just dropped. A few takeaways:
-- NASCAR is saying that to get penalized for going below the double yellow line, a car must have the whole tire down there AND improve the position AND not be forced down there. So three things.
-- In Kyle Larson's case, he didn't go below the yellow line (was on it), so it's a moot point.
-- Austin Hill would likely have been black-flagged if he hadn't already finished as the last car on the lead lap. He was not forced below the line by Larson in Turn 2, NASCAR felt; Hill went down there himself AND improved his position. But they didn't call anything because the penalty would have put him right where he was.
-- Ross Chastain and Carson Hocevar went below the line but were not penalized because they were forced below the line by Todd Gilliland, NASCAR felt.
-- NASCAR looked at penalizing Gilliland but it was inconclusive whether he forced them down there on purpose, so they didn't make a call (but they could have and it was close, apparently).
Indycar saying this literally every year without fail

I have never seen a sequence that better exemplifies that AI will never be able to replace film and tv, this is laughably bad
This community as a statistics major is funny as hell tf you mean median finish is a meaningless stat 😭
And as a further that I should have included, I dont want to hear it about Custer either. Preece and Custer were near identical in the 41, Preece is showing what he can do when not in that shitbox, Custer did in O'Reilly. Custers a good driver, that car is just complete shit
After barely getting collected in the initial big one, Ryan Preece could stay in the draft, but did not have a car that could generate runs as the last car in line, which made his advancement contingent on having someone behind him, which got him stuck midpack. A lap before the
Good move. He absolutely has the potential to run well in NASCAR but he cannot keep being exposed to simple situations like checking up for a big one without chopping the person to your inside for the first time at the national level. I dont think hes going to pull an SVG and

Ty Dillon was one of the cars RFK lapped stage one. He kept it clean all day but couldnt finish better than 15th because he was a lap down. RFK truly punished some teams for being complacent in stage 1
Some of the most interesting statistics from the 2026 YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway have to do with Ty Dillon.
Made 43 passes; the next worst was Joey Gase with 130. Most was Chase Briscoe with 445.
Credited for 0 "Quality Passes"; He and Zane Smith (5) were the only drivers in single digits. Most was Shane van Gisbergen with 269.
He had the fewest laps inside the top 15 (five); the next-worst was John Hunter Nemechek with 10.
His nine fastest laps tied Ryan Preece and Ty Gibbs for the second-most in the event. Chris Buescher had the most with 10. Daniel Suárez and Ryan Blaney were the only two drivers to not record a single fastest lap.
Of the 10 aforementioned drivers, he finished ahead of nine of them.
His 15th-place finish was his best finish since Nashville (12th).
Kept the car clean and got a good result from it!
