Municipal governments are definitely targeted!
Foreign interference is more sophisticated and agile than ever before. Instead of just targeting elections, adversaries exploit everyday news trends to fuel social divides and weaken democratic values. Verify your info before sharing or making arrangements.ow.ly/8OjH50ZWp6J

Today Cynthia Day and I joined CFAX 1070 for the Colwood mayoral debate. CFAX told listeners Doug Kobayashi "could not be here today." Voters deserve to hear from every candidate. I showed up. @cfax1070 #Colwood #Election2026 youtube.com/live/BaQObjRq7M4…

Proud to share: CUPE Local 374, the union for Colwood's own municipal workers, has endorsed our campaign for Mayor. The folks who plow our roads, help you at the front counter, and care for our parks know how this city runs. Their trust means a great deal. Thank you. @CUPEBC

Grateful to have earned the endorsement of CUPE BC members in the race for Mayor of Colwood. This wasn't automatic: members looked at where every candidate stands and made their own call. I'm proud of where it landed. More soon on why.

These are all great questions. All I asked for were the # of investigations & the total $ Instead we got $124,233 for one investigation and no $ released for the 2nd one. And they didn’t say ALL investigations!
This is a small distraction from much more important issues like the 11-storey building that stands empty and slated for demolition in nearby Langford, but maybe Colwood Councillors will explain: 1) Why Colwood Council ignored their own Fairness Advisor's recommendation to consider keeping this matter confidential, with no public release (below)? 2) Why a report received in August wasn't made public until after the September deadlines for nominations and withdrawals from being on the municipal ballot? But again, it isn't an empty 11 storey building, so in terms of issues in the West Shore that matter, it's probably taken up too much of our attention already. #yyj

For months I've asked: how many council conduct investigations this term, and at what cost? Today the City confirmed $124,233 for one. There's a second, no cost given. And possibly more?

For months, I've been asking a simple question: how many council code of conduct investigations has this term seen, and what have they cost residents? Today, the City confirmed it. $124,233, for one investigation — and it turns out there's a second one without a cost!

Any why is this being released an hour before the Provincial government calls an election? Hoping to be lost in the Provincial news perhaps?

The @cityofcolwood council needs to come clean and answer these 2 simple questions 1) what are the total # of investigations in this term 2) what is the total $ amount spent?

“This is not the first investigation into a breach of conduct by Councillor Jordison. The earlier decision and investigation report were not released publicly at the time, however the complainant in that matter has requested that the information be released.”
31
Important to note the city has NOT said this was all the investigations- just 2 of them. Why is the city not releasing ALL of the investigations?
36
The cost to engage the Fairness Advisor, conduct the investigation, prepare the report, and obtain legal advice to date is $124,233 to be paid from the City’s legal budget

Are there more to come?
