I think most coaches and players can tell you that what Angel Reese demonstrates in this video is behavior normally addressed at the ELEMENTARY OR MIDDLE SCHOOL LEVELS.
Stomping her feet, throwing her hands down, and walking toward the bench in frustration because her teammates didn't pass her the ball. ALL WHILE THE BALL IS STILL IN PLAY.
At the professional level, this is an extraordinary display of immaturity and a complete abandonment of team responsibilities.
Every player gets frustrated. Every player wants the ball. But you NEVER allow your personal frustration to take priority over the possession, your teammates, or the game itself.
I've never known a serious coach who would tolerate this behavior, and teammates certainly don't appreciate being publicly shown up on the court.
This is the WNBA Finals. The standard should be considerably higher.

All this outrage over this T-shirt? We showed up peacefully at Game 1 of the WNBA Finals, Valkyries vs. Dream on Saturday and faced verbal attacks and death threats. Since when did disagreeing make threatening someone’s life acceptable?

For the SECOND CONSECUTIVE GAME of the WNBA Finals, both the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries walked off the floor immediately before the national anthem and returned seconds after it ended.
What basketball preparation requires disappearing for the exact duration of a two-minute anthem?
The WNBA proudly promotes inclusivity, yet somehow cannot get its two championship teams to remain on the floor for the national anthem. The league even has a published rule calling for players and coaches to stand during its performance.
At what point does the league recognize that its own actions are contributing to the division and alienation of the very fans it claims to welcome?

MORE TRANS VIOLENCE
Alexandros Paporakis was arrested in Illinois after he allegedly planned to carry out a mass shooting at a Hindu temple.
He is reportedly receiving hormone injections for his "gender transition," even while in custody.
Paporakis has been charged with making terrorist threats and other gun charges.
These people are a danger to society

This is the post that triggered hateful messages from many WNBA fans today.
A post celebrating kindness. Compassion. Humility. Unity. A superstar taking time to brighten a child’s darkest days.
Think about that.
Then ask why the culture surrounding this league desperately needs to be examined.

Caitlin Clark, how much more proof do you need?
You have been beaten to hell, mocked, disrespected, minimized, overlooked, talked about behind your back and treated like an inconvenience by people who have benefited enormously from everything your arrival has done for this league.
You have taken cheap shots on the court, contempt off it, lectures from people who resent the attention you receive, and criticism from people who would kill for a fraction of the audience you brought with you.
And through all of it, you keep extending grace.
You keep defending them.
You keep lowering your head, choosing the diplomatic answer and protecting people who have shown absolutely no hesitation about taking shots at you.
At some point, that stops looking gracious and starts looking like you refuse to read the room.
Great basketball got you here. Great basketball made you a superstar. Great basketball changed the economics, television ratings, attendance and relevance of this league.
Great basketball is not going to clean up the culture surrounding you.
You are going to have to decide who the hell you are.
Either you understand that you are the most powerful player in women’s basketball, or you keep allowing people who resent that reality to dictate the terms of your existence inside this league.
Stop apologizing for your impact.
Stop making yourself smaller so everyone else can feel bigger.
Stop protecting people who would never protect you with the same intensity.
Stop bowing at the feet of a culture that has spent years demanding your humility while showing precious little humility toward you.
You do not owe anyone an apology for being the superstar.
You do not owe anyone guilt for being popular.
You do not owe anyone silence while they insult you, stereotype your fans, question your success or treat your presence like something the league has to endure.
READ THE DAMN ROOM.
They know exactly how powerful you are.
The only person who still seems reluctant to acknowledge it is you.
Own it.
Use it.
Demand better.
Because if Caitlin Clark continues surrendering her voice to people who have spent years diminishing her, eventually the biggest obstacle standing between Caitlin Clark and the power she earned will be Caitlin Clark herself.

🚨 CAITLIN CLARK’S EXIT INTERVIEW WAS A MASTERCLASS IN HOW NOT TO INTERVIEW A FRANCHISE PLAYER.
Twenty minutes with the most important player in women’s basketball and almost nobody had the guts to ask the questions that will actually determine the future of the Indiana Fever.
Instead, we got feelings.
Appreciation.
Golf.
Iowa.
And one of the softest coaching questions imaginable.
Stephanie White has been under intense criticism all season, so what did Caitlin get asked?
“What has she meant to you and your career and how much do you appreciate playing for her and possibly continuing to play for her?”
Seriously?
That isn’t a question.
That is an invitation to say something nice.
Of course Caitlin praised her.
What did anyone expect her to do, publicly fire her coach for ownership?
The questions should have been much harder.
Do you believe this coaching staff maximized this roster?
Why was the defense so bad?
Why did rotations remain inconsistent?
Do you believe the front office has built properly around you?
What specifically does this roster need to win a championship?
Do you trust the people currently making those decisions?
Because Caitlin actually gave us something very important when the conversation finally turned to her EPIC extension.
She did NOT commit to signing it.
Instead, she immediately started talking about the salary cap, roster construction, who Indiana needs to sign, what players are worth and what sacrifices might have to be made.
That should have set off alarm bells everywhere.
Caitlin Clark clearly understands that winning a championship is going to require some uncomfortable roster decisions.
And yes, that includes Kelsey Mitchell.
Caitlin could not have been more complimentary of Kelsey. She said she wants her back, wants to keep playing beside her and believes Indiana should recruit her aggressively.
I believe every word of that.
But friendship and roster construction are two completely different conversations.
If retaining Kelsey at the price required prevents Indiana from fixing its defense, adding size, improving versatility and putting the right pieces around Caitlin Clark, then letting Kelsey walk may ultimately be the better basketball decision.
Sentiment cannot run the salary cap.
And Sports Patriot’s position on the rest of this organization has not changed either.
This front office has had three years with the most valuable young player in the sport.
The coaching staff just produced another season filled with questionable rotations, defensive breakdowns and decisions that repeatedly left us wondering what the hell they were seeing.
Caitlin was never going to walk into an exit interview and torch the people she works with.
That is why reporters have to do their jobs.
Ask the uncomfortable question.
Press the vague answer.
Follow up.
Make the franchise player explain what she believes this organization needs to become a champion.
Instead, we got another exit interview where everyone leaves smiling and almost nobody leaves knowing anything they didn’t already know.
The most important thing Caitlin Clark said today was buried inside the safest interview imaginable:
Winning comes first.
Even if that means sacrifices.
Indiana better be listening.

What actually happened:
White man casually points at A'ja Wilson and says "that's on you"
What A'ja Wilson sees:
White man, dressed in white robe, wearing a pointed hat, hurls racial slurs in her direction before summoning the Hells Angels to gang up on her & Las Vegas Aces
Grover Cleveland 2.0 retweeted
The WNBA has another enormous credibility test on its hands today.
By every reasonable reading of its own rules, this cannot simply disappear.
A’ja Wilson entered the stands to confront a fan. Other Las Vegas Aces players appear to have left the bench during the incident. The rulebook addresses both situations, and both carry consequences.
Now comes the part that will tell fans whether anything has actually changed.
No excuses.
No special treatment because it is A’ja Wilson.
No looking the other way because Game 3 is Thursday.
No rewriting the standard after the fact because enforcing it would be inconvenient.
This is exactly the kind of moment when a professional sports league proves whether its rules are rules or merely suggestions.
Cathy Engelbert, Adam Silver and WNBA leadership have an opportunity today to send a message far bigger than one playoff series.
Apply the rules consistently.
Protect the integrity of the game.
Protect the fans.
Hold the players accountable.
For a league that desperately needs to rebuild trust, this could be a defining moment.
There are fans who have spent the last two seasons wondering whether to stick around and believe a different future is possible under new leadership.
This is the perfect opportunity to set the tone.
Now we wait to see whether the WNBA acts like a serious professional sports organization...
Or chooses narrative over substance once again.

Hey @grok
Last night in Fever-Aces Game 2, A’ja Wilson left the court after a dead ball, crossed the baseline, and confronted a seated fan in the second row. Tony East called it the second row. The Review-Journal said she crossed the baseline to a seated fan and that the tech was for leaving the court. Getty captioned the still “entering the stands.” The Fever later said the fan did not violate the Fan Code and was allowed to stay.
2026 WNBA Comments on the Rules, Section J: any player who deliberately enters the spectator stands is automatically ejected and the incident is reported to the commissioner. Momentum / play on a loose ball is the only exception. “The first row of seats is considered the beginning of the stands.”
Kierstan Bell was not in the game and left the bench to join it. WNBA leave-the-bench rule: minimum one game unpaid + fine.
Answer from the rulebook, not from the fact officials only called a technical.
1. Quote the spectator-stands rule and apply it to second-row video.
2. What should the in-game call have been?
3. What should the league office give Wilson, and Bell, before Game 3?
4. Compare to NBA cases where a player entered the stands to confront a fan even when it did not become a fight... especially Isaiah Thomas, 2019: 2 games, NBA called it a bright-line rule enforced even when the encounter did not escalate (~$32k lost). Then note Malice numbers (Artest rest of season, Jackson 30, O’Neal 15) only as the physical-fight ceiling, not as the floor.
5. Do not treat “she only got a tech” or “the fan pointed” as a defense. The stands rule has no provocation exception.
6. What the WNBA should announce today, Wednesday, Sept. 30, before Game 3 tips Thursday in Las Vegas. Be specific and named:
- Wilson: games and fine, and whether she is eligible Thursday.
- Bell (and any other reserve who left the bench and reached the scene): games and fine.
- Any on-court teammate who followed her into the seats, not just held her on the floor.
- Whether the crew is under review for missing a mandatory ejection.
- One sentence: if both play Thursday, the stands rule and the leave-the-bench rule were waived.
No hedging on whether row two counts. It does.
