JAY-Z speaks on smear campaigns against him online and denounces AI 👀 “People tell you that nobody was in here tonight, but you got eyes.” “People will tell you the music wasn’t great, but you got ears.” “They’ll tell you that Jigga ain’t Jigga, Hov is motherf**king HOV!”

Tracy McGrady says the basketball critics only use the regular season in a meaningful way when they want to use it as a case to make their point. Perfect example: the Kobe Bryant and LeBron James debate. They use Bron having a 16-6 record against Kobe as the reason he's the GOAT, but won't give T-Mac his credit for carrying the Houston Rockets to a 22-game winning streak while Yao Ming was injured

Aaron Carter was 18 when his father asked him to sign a $256,000 check. Aaron said no. He says his father pinned him to the ground and fired a .44 Magnum next to his right ear. In the video below, Aaron tells it himself. "Dad, I need this money. I worked my whole life for it." He signed anyway. He says he is 70 percent deaf in that ear. He had been earning since he was a kid. He says his parents went through between $350 and $500 million of his money. At one point the family had 15 houses, about 30 cars, two 70-foot yachts and 14 jet skis. Then the family sold their compound in the Florida Keys. The money behind it, he said, was his. His share: "I got nothing from that." Aaron died in 2022. He was 34. When parents run a child star's career, do they deserve a cut, or does every dollar belong to the kid who earned it?

Chris Smith lost his Kris Kross partner and his best friend since first grade. He honored Chris Kelly through music and art. 🖤 Long before “Jump,” they were two boys growing up together in Atlanta. Their friendship carried them into worldwide fame and onto Michael Jackson’s Dangerous tour. Kelly was just 34 when he passed away. Smith later explained that music and writing helped him deal with the loss. He wrote a tribute called “Best Friends Forever” and created sketches and paintings in Kelly’s memory. “I hold onto all those good times,” he said. Jump will always be a banger 🔥 I was roughly the same age as they were when they came out, blew my mind how young but talented they were already. Like Tupac n Biggie making all those hits before they were 25, crazy. Rip to his best bud Chris.

🚨 Wayno checks Akademiks over an era he says “Ak DIDN’T LIVE THROUGH” saying there’s a huge difference between researching hip hop history and actually being there while it was happening. “In ’96, ’97, ’98, ’99, 2000, 2001… you wasn’t even listening to RAP MUSIC.” Wayno says while Ak was still a kid, he was already inside the Roc-A-Fella/Baseline environment around Kanye, Just Blaze and more: “In 2001, I was 18. I’m already in the BUILDING where RocAFella’s at.” He admits that may give him some bias, but says people can’t rewrite what the culture actually felt like in real time. Via Wayno
