We’re two weeks into the NFL season and already several high profile starting players (including franchise QBs) are injured. The league is pushing more international games. Teams are wearing God awful “alternate” jerseys that are hideous looking and nothing more than a cash grab from fans. If you want to watch every game from your favorite team on TV, you have to have anywhere from 3-6 subscription services. The average get in ticket price is $386. Man, fuck the NFL. I think I’m going to go buy a needing repair vintage motorcycle like a 1977 Honda CT125 and teach myself how to restore it on Sundays.

How far into tonight’s broadcast do we get before Collinsworth drops Mahomes’ name? I’m going to say before 2:27 left in the first.

I’ve had my fun poking _ichigan for their loss against WMU, but now it’s time to be serious. There’s a real chance they lose six more games this year. Love to see it.

How far does Michigan fall in the rankings? They needed a controversial call and a last second Hail Mary to beat a MAC team they were 27 point favorites over. I don’t think they fall out of the top 25, but I definitely think they lose 4-6 spots. I’ll split it and say #21.

T’was a good morning!

Finished it tonight. It only took me a few pages to remember I wasn’t a fan of his writing style, although the story itself is solid. It’s crazy how many things have come to fruition since this was written including AirPods, Reality TV, Tik Tok/Youtube Shorts and huge room filling TVs. Just like the first read through all those years ago, it’s entertaining but can tend to feel like a slog at times.

Daughter got assigned this as her summer reading assignment. It’s been about 35 years since I read it. Bought us each a copy. Will report back with thoughts.
