What a crappy way to start my day - seeing another post from this creep @elonmusk who I don't follow talking about "the left". What's wrong with having sympathy for the victims of this sociopath?
San Diego Squirrels Club Meet & Greet. Social and support group for Adults with ADHD will host a "Meet and Greet" on April 30 at 6:30 PM at Mission Bay Beach Club. There's no charge for this event and it's open to all adults with ADHD and our allies.

The Medical Board of California (MBC) has become hopelessly corrupt and dysfunctional. This organization routinely violates the rights of both physicians and patients, and is the poster child for the worst of our goverment.
My own experience with this agency is beyond horrible. I had a psychiatrist who correctly diagnosed and successfully treated my ADHD when I was 64 years old. He left that organization under mysterious circumstances, then a lying con-man, who I have never met, claimed he was "my psychiatrist", fabricated new psychiatric diagnosis, tampered with my medical records, and then took out a workplace restraining order in retaliation for my reporting billing fraud at the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) where he worked.
It didn't stop there. The the geniuses at the MBC charged my real psychiatrist - an honest and competent professional, for his treatment of me, and a trans woman who committed suicide in 2020. No one wanted this, not even the mother of the suicide victim, but they did it anyway, and I sat through four full days of the bizarre ritual they use to provide medical justice in California.
After flushing a few hundred thousand dollars in public money down the toilet it was over. They tried to get him on some bogus record keeping charge, that is their "fall back" position and they way they usually get the good doctors they go after. In this case, however, their case was so bad they had to sweep it under the rug.
The Medical Board of California is a train wreck. As far as "good public policy goes" it is an abomination. I've been going to their quarterly meetings for more than two years, and I have never seen such a combination of arrogance, and stunning incompetence in one place.
The rot and corruption of this organization hasn't been contained to the patients and doctors whose lives and careers they have ruined, it has spread to other parts of government - the court system, the Attorney General of California, and sadly the California State Legislature who they control and manipulate.
It doesn't have to be this way. We can come up with a system that serves the needs of both patients and doctors, but first, we need to get rid of this abomination. Would anyone like to take the first step towards this goal? I would like to have a discussion with victims of the Medical Board of California, doctors and patients, of all political stripes.
Please comment on this thread if you would like to explore this possibility. If more than a few people are interested, I will set up a video conference, so also let me know of a time that works for you.
Burned through a few comments - I noticed they stopped saying "all we can do is consider future agenda items" because they have never done that - not once.
The Medical Board of California (MBC) will be meeting in less than an hour at 12:30 PM PST. I will also be working on this unfinished website because having it public and announced may be the only way to get myself working on it. abolishmbc.org/
I'm doing a bit of research to see if I can find anyone interested in this approach. The objectives of this initiative are to eliminate the Medical Board of California entirely, and eventually replace it with something that works better for both patients and doctors and I would like to work with both to make this happen.
That means we are unlikely to agree on everything, but I hope we can all agree the Medical Board of California is a godawful agency that should be banished from this state, and replaced with something better.
I'm just starting out, but have invited people (mostly patients) who are in favor of stricter enforcement, and people (mostly doctors) who want looser enforcement. Many of the doctors here are concerned about the MBC cohesive policy of vaccines, but there may be some who are in favor vaccines. Debating that will not be our primary emphasis if I get that going, the objective will be to eliminate the MBC entirely.
My short term objective is to meet with at least a few of you by video conference to "compare notes" if nothing else. I'll be doing more research to find more Twitter/X handles, but in the mean time, if you could help me get the word out I would appreciate it.

Picture of me with the Gordie Howe bridge in the background. President Trump wants to steal it because Canadians are so mean. As a patristic America, and speaking only for myself, if Canada were to invade the U.S. right now, I would be in favor of unconditional surrender.

Get real doctor, you have no rights in the American health care system "informed consent" - its a joke, "medical records privacy" - it doesn't exist. You know I am in your fan club, and I believe what you are doing is truly courageous, and I will help you if I can, but we need to be honest with what is going on in the medical system and industry.
Just so I can leave something of value on this comment, I will leave you with a completely honest and factual statement that I can make in a simple four word declarative sentence. It is something doctors and medical professionals say all the time, with a tone of serious reverence, as if it is the unvarnished truth, yet it is demonstratively and objectively false. Are you ready? Here is the sentence:
HIPAA is a fraud.
That's right, it is an outright fraud, and an outrageous lie. I first discovered this because I have have filed two complaints about Dr. Joe Sepulveda (CA license# A113283) the lying con man who claimed he was "my psychiatrist". In mental heath, "informed consent" means you have a "therapeutic relationship" whatever the fuck that is. He is now the Chief of Psychiatry at Family health centers of San Diego, that FQHC toxic garbage dump that has the audacity to call itself a "community clinic" that has caused untold human misery in my region.
All I have been able to find out is that they decide, their "patient" has nothing to do with it. This can even happen after a 10 minute, non-consensual online meeting that was mostly yelling. It didn't matter - according to the @SDSuperiorCourt I was under this man's loving gentile care, when suddenly, and inexplicably, I threatened a mass shooting in San Diego.
Never mind, that I am 71 years old with zero criminal record and a history of anti-gun activism. I guess I must have been in a coma or something at the time, because I certainly don't remember, all I can say now is that I sheepishly must admit to our right-wing friends that:
Yes, The government wants to take away your guns.
Back to HIPAA. The most serious charge is medical record tampering for retaliation - exactly what "lyin Joe Sepulveda" did to me. It
I asked Gemini AI to find a mention of "physician honesty" I remembered seeing on the Medical Board of California (MBC) website, and it went way deeper than I thought it would.

Building Community and Making Friends for Adults with ADHD
On September 12, at 7PM the San Diego Squirrels Club will be hosting an event we think will be both fun and interesting. We plan on discussing ways to make new and better friends in the San Diego region, and ways we can build a community of adults with ADHD here. There's an "epidemic of loneliness" in this country, and it is especially bad in San Diego, where both the culture and geography make it especially difficult. We're not going to solve this problem in a single meeting, but perhaps we can make a tiny dent by exploring different methods, approaches, and techniques as well as specific groups and places where you might increase the odds of making friends with the kind of people you like.
The Squirrels Club was founded last October with the goal of building an "interconnected community of Adults with ADHD" in the San Diego region. We still have a long way to go to reach that goal but we've been making slow but study progress. Our regular "in-person" meetings are on the second Thursday of each month, and we recently added virtual meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month. This one should be easy to find. It is at Mission Bay Beach Club, which is the old Mission Bay Visitor's Center if you remember that. It's right off I-5 with plenty of parking and is a straight shot from South or North County if you live in those areas. These meetings are free and open to all adults with ADHD and our allies so we hope you will consider joining us.
It is not always easy to meet other adults who have gone through life with this difference - who may have faced the same challenges, but also unique talents and abilities, so this is a good opportunity. The San Diego Squirrels Club is being built "by and for" adults with ADHD, and we need all the help we can get. The full meeting description is on Eventbrite at the link below where you can RSVP. Please support your tribe by joining us at this gathering. We look forward to meeting you.

THIS THURSDAY: Meet & Greet for Adults with ADHD
San Diego Squirrels Club will meet on Thursday, 7PM at Old Town Saloon for an informal Meet & Greet. The event description where you can RSVP is at the link: meetup.com/squirrels/events/…
I also made this video - it is a little too long but gives a recap on some of our previous meetings. Please help us get the word out by sharing this with anyone you think might be interested.
San Diego - Someone desperately needs our help to prevent immediate homelessness. This is an SOS.
I posted about this woman a few days ago whose RV has broken and is in immediate danger of homelessness. I've since made a GoFundMe Campaign and we don't need that much to get her back on her feet. gofundme.com/f/urgent-help-n…
She doesn't want me to say her exact location but it is near the La Playa and Roseville neighborhoods on Point Loma, not far from Liberty Station.
If you can help in any way it would be appreciated - with a donation of whatever you can afford, or if you know a mechanic who might be willing to help, or even just resharing this post - I don't have many followers here.
Let's not let a good person become homeless. This is an SOS - please help however you can.
Emergency situation - a good person is in trouble.
A woman I met online who is in her mid-60s lives in her RV but doesn't have a stable place to stay so moves from place to place throughout the county.
Her RV just broke down and she is stuck on Shelter Island in San Diego in a place where it is not legal to park overnight. She has more than five unpaid parking tickets so is in danger of being towed, but she has almost no money for repairs. She talked to a mobile mechanic who thinks it is the starter and will cost about $200 to fix.
I am extremely tight right now, and can come up with maybe $50, but she needs help immediately. The mechanic she is talking to is in Oceanside so that is not ideal either. I've called both 211 and Traveler's Aid but neither can help. I have no repair skills so all I can think to do is ask the universe for help. I don't have many followers here so please reshare this post to help get the word out.
I haven't yet met this woman in person - we have been corresponding online, but I know her to be a good person. She had some leased farmland in South Bay and was growing food and running a community garden for the homeless, but lost that because of the border toxic waste situation, which was not her fault.
Now she needs help. Any and all ideas are welcome - but someone with car mechanic skills would be especially helpful. The last thing San Diego needs is another person forced into homelessness when such a small amount of help is needed, so lets figure this out.
This is an SOS. Let's do something to help this good person.
Well, I need to start my day by giving a hearty "bite me" to Meetup.com. I thought $20 a month for a mediocre site was steep, but this is more than a 100 percent price increase with no warning. A normal Meetup account for an event organizer will now cost $540 per year - that is outrageous. No one cares that they will be giving us "AI" features - we don't need or want them.
I saw the handwriting on the wall with this - Meetup was bought by a private equity firm a few years ago and it has been going downhill since. For all the "improvements" Meetup says it is doing, none of them involve giving us access to our member's contact information. That requires a "professional account" which costs far more.
People have been talking about an "epidemic of loneliness" in our society and Meetup just made it harder to do anything about it. Existing social networks, with their "friends of friends" approach, are not designed to help us meet new people or connect in different ways so something needs to change with this technology - it is no longer serving our real needs.
