Phone took a swim? Power it off. Don't charge it. Don't put it in rice. Skip the Rice. Save the Device. Then get it to a local technician fast. Acting quickly can improve your chances. wheretorepair.org/2026/10/12…

Slow computer? It may not need replacing. An SSD or memory upgrade, a dust cleanout, or a clean reinstall can bring a lot of machines back. A technician can check what yours supports first. wheretorepair.org/2026/10/12…

International E-Waste Day. The WEEE Forum's 2026 theme is Fast Tech: "Don't bin it, bring it!" For whole devices, go one step further: keep it, repair it, reuse it, recycle it last. wheretorepair.org/2026/10/05…

Zelenskyy: "When our strikes reached Yandex data centers, it suddenly became little easier to breathe on many social media platforms. Many people noticed it.
There was less hate, less division, fewer provocations because there were fewer bots. It's pretty clear where those bots were coming from.
If they disappeared when Yandex went offline, this proves once again that Europe is not the source of the problems."
The big problem is that Russia figured out how modern society consumes information a decade ago, but the West hasn't.
There are millions of bots commenting and posting Russian propaganda. There are paid influencers spreading it, with Russian bots supporting their content.
There is a gigantic machine operating to radicalize and influence Western societies, and there is not enough defense in place.
It doesn't just influence elections, it sows discord, engulfs societies in culture wars, radicalizes teenagers, and shapes political decisions when elected officials fail to read the room.
That needs to change. And fast.

Monday morning, three steps: pull last month's parts invoices and RMAs for your true cost per part; run your top ten repairs against the floor; put the minimum contribution in dollars on the pricing sheet. techcareassociation.org/2026…

A Tech Cleanout is not about getting rid of things. It is about getting them moving again. Half of end-of-life smartphones are just left unused at home. Yours could be someone's phone. wheretorepair.org/2026/10/05…

Double a $12 part: it contributes about $9 toward a ticket that needs about $104. Double a $140 part: it collects the whole ticket twice. One rule fails at both ends. Illustrative. Part 5 of Fix the Shop First: techcareassociation.org/2026…

Two pockets, one floor. Parts pocket plus labor pocket has to reach what the part really cost plus what the bench hour has to earn. "Part plus $100" ran about $8 short on the example shop. Illustrative. techcareassociation.org/2026…
