馃У26/27 season matches
Lge Cup rd 1 - Argyle (a) 10/8/26 2-0
A fairly even game without a lot of clear cut chances for either team although Argyle had the better of it. Two mistakes in added time cost us. Argyle for a div above not looking that much stronger than City. #ecfc
12. Crewe (h) 20/10/26 2-0
Best football I鈥檝e seen under Taylor鈥檚 return in 1st half. Fluid, attacking, progressive football, the front 6 causing issues & deserved more than a pen goal at HT. Second half more of a battle. CA quick on break, showing why they had been unbeaten #ecfc
11. Colchester (a) 17/10/26 0-0
Another point in the road, another clean sheet, a settled back four continues to now be the best defence in League 2. However, woefully shy at the other end of the pitch where I feel like a broken record. Nobody is shooting, so no wonder 0-0 #ecfc
10. Shrewsbury (a) 10/10/26 0-1
The away win returns after 259 days! An excellent finish by Sonny Cox following a great through ball from Birch. A happy end after a tough week for Sonny, and the team and fans celebrating together was special. Something to build on, UTC!! #ecfc
EFL Trophy - Oxford (h) 2-2 (4-3 pens)
An entertaining match which was played at a brisk tempo, with City starting to show some understanding and relationships growing between players. Stand out performances from Samuel, GB, GC, LC, and consistentcy from Perry. Positive!! #ecfc
9. Rotherham (h) 3/10/26 1-0
Unbeaten run at home extended, where plenty of chances created, and some more clinical finishing a bigger margin was deserved. A late miss at the death by Mullen saved frustration. Scully great addition. Birch & Cummins great #ecfc
8. Bristol Rovers (a) 26/09/26 1-0
A feeling of d茅j脿 vu,City put in a decent defensive performance against a free scoring side. Toothless in attack, their GK won鈥檛 need to wash his kit. Goals will quickly turn a near miss team into a winning one, but 鈴憋笍running for Taylor #ecfc
7. Tranmere (h) 19/9/26 0-0
Another even game where we have had the better chances and not converted. Solid defensive performance which is a tribute to Big Kev who is sorely missed.
Goals desperately needed at Bristol next week, quality shots needed not just headers #ecfc
6. Port Vale (a) 12/9/26 1-0
Somehow a worse showing than York. A lot of aimless long balls against a poor opponent, who offered v little against us. A PK decided it. Lineup lacked balance, Samuel and Sutherland provided width, but needed from minute 1. Tranmere is must win #ecfc
EFL Trophy - Spurs u21 (h) 08/09/26 2-0
Good run out for the squad not getting regular mins inc the new arrivals. Good goal from Rose, looks top notch, & generally good all round, some stand out mentions for Cayless, Birch, Oakes, and Taylor. Spurs were poor. Much needed win #ecfc
4. Barnet (h) 1/9/26 1-1
Best performance of the season under lights, plenty of pace & positive attacking moments.442 suited us & team looked balanced.Wingers running, crosses into the box,
should have been more than 1 Cole goal.Barnet v physical.Good point, deserving of 3 #ecfc
5. Walsall (h) 5/9/26 0-0
What I would class a winning draw. The better team with the better chances, where we created some great opportunities but didn鈥檛 finish them. Close to being a good team now window is shut. Rose needs to start and the back 4 of Tues needs to start. #ecfc
3. York (a) 29/8/26 2-1
Worst showing of the season to date, absences due to transfer speculation ruin the lineup and plans made all week. First 25 mins could have been 3-0. Missed chances kept us in it somehow but a second always coming, with #23 having the freedom of the wing
Another set piece not defended gave the goal. A fightback in the last ten mins which should have been there from 1st min, left us wondering what could have been. Birch needs to start, more players needed to fill a thin squad. Barnet on Tues is already a huge game #ecfc
1. Grimsby (a) 15/8/26 1-0
Missed chances cost a share of the points. Opening day often gives surprises but Grimsby took one chance out of several gilt edged ones. Not many chances created, and scoring could be a problem. Tricky fixture though , not many will win here. #ecfc
2. Accrington (h) 22/8/26 2-0
Opening home fixture with an early goal from Fitz to settle nerves. A 2nd quickly followed with a deflected cross from Edwards. Should have been more, chances created & spurned. Home form may be good this year. AS worst I鈥檝e seen @ SJP in years #ecfc
