What if... and hear me out... we moved the Montague Street bridge to the border?? It is Melbourne's greatest weapon against removalists.

Have just spoken to neighbours at Linden Ave, Ivanhoe where man was shot dead on Tues. They heard two loud "cracks" about 5.12am followed by car speeding away. The body was behind a bush at front of block of units for 12 hours before a walker discovered it. @newscomauHQ

Ruth Dubois, the daughter of Heather Wilkinson, has a message for Erin Patterson. In court this morning, she said: "It's difficult to comprehend how you could spend months planning, researching, making lunch invitations, preparing the meal, eating it then carrying on with life."

Ian Wilkinson tells Vict Supreme Court Erin Patterson acted with 'callous and calculated' disregard when she murdered his wife, in-laws. Incredibly he offers her forgiveness. "I offer my forgiveness to Erin. I'm no longer a victim of her. She's become the victim of my kindness."

Universities should never be subservient to the merchants of death, especially those profiting from making the worst weapons of mass destruction - nuclear weapons - now banned under international law. Shame Uni Melbourne, shame. @UniMelb @MAPW_Australia news.com.au/national/victori…

Antoinette Lattouf speaking after her win against the ABC. In 2023, @HRW found that Israel was using starvation as a weapon of war in Gaza. (Today), Palestinian children are still being starved. Emaciated, skeletal, scavenging for scraps. This is not accidental. It is engineered.

I spoke with Ben Shelton in Melbourne after his R3 win over Alexei Popyrin in 2023, during his first trip outside the US. A year earlier he was 570 in the world & I remember thinking we were on the verge of a meteoric rise. Something else struck me, too. news.com.au/sport/tennis/ame…

His criticism of interviewers and broadcasters and commentators was spot on. It's been hard to watch, like we've taken for granted the great privilege of hosting a slam, one that comes with responsibility to be way, way better. We shouldn't need the players to remind us of that.

The Open is an incredible event, and we are so lucky to be exposed to the best athletes on the planet. Can we raise the bar to meet their excellence with some of our own now? That would be great.

'Pile on' sure is an interesting way of saying 'four indictments and 80-something felony charges' but then he was never that great with truth
Was pleased to meet with former President Donald Trump on Tuesday night at his private residence in NY. It was nice to catch up again, especially given the pile on he is currently dealing with in the US. Was also a good opportunity to discuss AUKUS, which received a warm reception. We also discussed the continuing assertions of China in the Indo-Pacific and the threats against Taiwan. These were issues we discussed regularly when we were both in office. Once again, the former President showed his true appreciation of the value he places on the Australia-US alliance and the shared role of supporting what our friend, Shinzo Abe, called a free and open Indo-Pacific. Good to see you DJT and thanks for the invitation to stay in touch. All the best.

Jacinta Allan on blocking 2nd safe injecting room for Melbourne: "We've been unable to find a location that strikes the right balance". Cites needs "of broader community". Can only imagine that infuriates those living near (or second kids to school next to) North Richmond site.
