Rio2 has received regulatory approval for the Modification of the Environmental Impact Study for the expansion of its Condestable underground copper mine in Peru. The approved MEIA includes environmental authorization for a dry-stack tailings facility, permits an expansion of throughput capacity to 10,000 tonnes per day from the current capacity of 8,400 tpd, and extends Condestable’s environmentally approved mine life by a further decade.

Rio2 has completed an updated National Instrument 43-101 Technical Report, confirming an increase in Condestable’s operational mine life, expanded Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves, as well as robust underground operation economics.

The Board of Directors of Rio2 travelled to Lima, Peru, for the Company’s Annual General and Special Meeting of Shareholders, where shareholders voted in favour of all matters brought before the Meeting. During the same trip, directors visited the Condestable Mine, received full progress reports on Fenix Gold and Condestable, and met with members of the Peru and Chile teams.
