Crash → First responder → Ambulance → Hospital → Cashless treatment → Survival​ Together, these form a chain that runs from crash to first responder to ambulance to hospital to survival. Moving beyond general trauma awareness, India is strenghtening a robust post-crash care architecture: India is strengthening this response through initiatives such as PM RAHAT which provide cashless treatment of up to ₹1.5 lakh for eligible road crash victims. National Ambulance Services include AIS-125-compliant ambulances, built to strict national standards with the design, safety features and medical equipment needed to provide reliable emergency care on the road. Initiatives such as Rah-Veer also recognise the role of bystanders in the critical moments after a crash. We’re delighted to see Outlook India, one of India’s leading publications, featuring the core themes discussed at the Road Safety Network’s national seminar, “Rethinking Urban Speed: Speed Management for Safer, More Livable and Inclusive Cities,” held on October 9 in collaboration with the Transportation Research and Injury Prevention Centre (TRIP Centre) at IIT Delhi and IIT Kharagpur.
