Let's see how many narratives this simple chart can destroy. Now, before anyone jumps in to argue the validity of Alinea Analytics, remember that this is what is being used to say E-Day is off to a "slow" start. Let's look at the percentage breakdown of this: 1. Forza Horizon 6-$579.2M . Xbox: 56.7% (-$328.4M) · Steam: 43.3% (~$250.8M) 2. Wolverine -$192.9M . PS5: 100% ($192.9M) 3. MLB The Show 26-$192.7M . PS5: 52% (-$100.2M) . Xbox: 48% (~$92.5M) 4. Halo: Campaign Evolved -$86.6M · PS5: 46.5% (~$40.3M) · Xbox: 41.1% (-$35.6M) · Steam: 12.2% (~$10.6M) 5. Marathon-$61.0M · Steam: 56.7% (-$34.6M) · PS5: 27.2% (~$16.6M) . Xbox: 16.1% (-$9.8M) 6. Tokon: Fighting Souls - $51.6M . PS5 :~ 82% (~$42.3M) · Steam: -18% (-$9.3M) 7. Gears of War: E-Day -$42.1M . Xbox :- 75% (-$31.6M) . Steam :~ 25% (~$10.5M) 8. Saros -$40.4M · PS5: 100% ($40.4M) Let's dig into the PS vs Xbox sales on multiplatform releases. For MLB, the split is very close with PS only at about a 4% advantage, for Marathon the split is about an 11% advantage for PS, and for Halo there is a 5% PS advantage. Halo is also a remaster of a game that most Xbox players have played, and it's on GamePass. If PS players "buy games" and Xbox players "Don't buy games". why is there only a 4-11% difference in sales? PS has triple the install base right? @Puertorock77_ keeps saying how the sales numbers make PS "better", so why is the data so different? If you take all of the PS 1st party games this year, and add them up you get $538.6m which is less than Forza Horizon 6 alone. A game that was in GamePass Day One, and has yet to released on the PS platform. Let's look at YTD: - Xbox Games*: 707.9b - PS Games: 538.5b - *GamePass (assuming ~350m per/mo): 3.5b Now, we don't have Phantom Blade Zero listed yet, but does Xbox have another title coming out *checks notes*, oh yeah Call of Duty! PS is doing phenomenally well with record revenue, but that is driven overwhelmingly by 3rd party sales and MTX from casual gamers. Forza 6 on Steam outperformed Wolverine on PS. This isn't about console warring, its about setting the record straight for people like @BRAP_Podcast who think there is no concern for Sony's first party financials, but there are for Xbox. This is for all the posts saying that E-Day needs to be ported (even though we are only on week 2, and there is still positive movement on the sales charts). Laugh at @XBOXTIMDOG all you want. Call people Xbots for trying to look at the data objectively. Make statements about who buys games, and who doesn't, based only on your feelings. But don't crash out when @Septic_Sauce or @DOC_DARK1985 or @Griggity put out videos calling you out.
