Yesterday’s ace #rEDBrum wouldn’t have happened without my colleagues. From the support of the fab @LiftSchools tech team to the ace @Lauren_J_Atkiss & @RickardsScience helping behind the scenes. But the biggest shout out is to my partner in crime, @R_Atton. What a complete star!

Was once asked to talk a very bright year 11 out of doing hairdressing at college. Asked her one question: Why hairdressing?
She said: “Because with nothing more than hot air and water I’ll be able to make anyone, no matter how poor, feel a million dollars.”
We left it there.

If your child has been sent home from school because someone in their bubble has tested positive for Covid-19, they must stay at home for as long as the school has advised.
Those self-isolating as they are a contact of a case, but who don't have symptoms, do not need a test.

People meeting in groups of 6 are no less likely to transmit the virus than groups of 2, 20 or 200. It just makes contact tracing easier afterwards. That we are reduced to 6, and encouraged to report our neighbours is a failure of test and trace you’ve had 6 months to organise.

I would urge you to talk to families before tweeting. To this day I haven’t met one parent who hasn’t wanted or felt the responsibility to feed their children...

Government to head teachers:
"Get all your staff to teach online straightaway and close your school."
HTs: "OK. Any help for those kids without computers and/or WiFi?"
Gov: "Yes in about two months we will give you nowhere near the amount you need and they'll be locked."

I’ve moderated GCSE and A level coursework for over 30 years. Teacher assessment is overwhelmingly accurate both in marks awarded and in rank order of students. In this climate, the government will only have one option - to back down.

This should say, "a false secretary of state, has no future career prospects after the sub standard A level grading procedure"
