RICK recently hosted the APWA Young Professionals Pickleball Social, welcoming nearly 50 attendees for some friendly competition and networking. Thanks to everyone who helped organize the event and joined us for some pickleball! We hope to see everyone back next year.

Our Arvada team joined the 5th Annual A.C.E. Trades Day in Denver, giving students hands-on experience with engineering and construction materials, surveying equipment, and field safety. We’re grateful to the organizers and volunteers for making this event possible!

The RICK team had another great time at the Future Construction Leaders Hard Hat Expo! Students got hands-on with surveying equipment and our EnviroScape watershed model, with some familiar faces returning to the RICK booth for another year. Thanks for having us!

For the fifth year in a row, RICK has received Platinum recognition from SANDAG’s Diamond Awards! Our Carpool Program and participation in Bike Anywhere Day, Clean Air Day, and SANDAG-sponsored webinars helped RICK earn the program’s highest level of recognition.

Last week, RICK’s Abigail Esparza headed to Cal Poly Pomona’s STEM Career Fair to meet future engineers and industry professionals! We loved getting to chat with so many curious students about where they hope to take their careers and what excites them about the industry.

A look at the Farmstand and Royal Oak Meadows Park at Viñedo in Paso Robles! RICK has provided civil engineering services for portions of the master-planned community, including improvements at Royal Oak Meadows Park such as a new basketball court, playground, and walking path.

This year’s RICNIC took place at Crown Point Park along Mission Bay, with amazing food from Taqueria Los Chuchys and batting cages making their first appearance. Sal Sanchez and Gaven Lejano took the win in our annual cornhole tournament 🏆 #RICNIC2026

RICK had an amazing time at APWA PWX 2026 in Houston! More than 5,000 public works professionals attended, including 60+ representatives from the San Diego region. We loved seeing such a strong local presence and spending the week with colleagues and friends!

Our Colorado teams recently came together for the 2026 RICNIC! Trivia, volleyball, cornhole, and a spaghetti tower challenge brought some friendly competition to the day. The winning tower reached 4 feet, 4 inches! Thanks to everyone who joined in and made the day a success!

RICK’s Ash Paranthaman, PE, QSD, QSP presented the Maple Canyon Restoration & Flood Mitigation Project at APWA PWX 2026 in Houston this week! Ash shared how the team used nature-based design to address long-standing erosion and flooding challenges within an urban watershed.
