It was inspiring to enjoy a group of creative arts graduates present their innovative business proposals to the @SibikwaArts Centre adjudicating panel.
Last week, we were so honoured to judge the finalists in the Uvuko Creative Arts Entrepreneurship Incubator competition.
The panel was delighted to award Zinhle Mkhonto and Nontobeko Maseko with a R20,000 #investment and #mentorship to support the growth of their startup businesses.
The other participants were also recognised with investments and mentorship to get their ventures off the ground.
This competition was made possible by the generous commitment of the Entrepreneurship Development Trust (EDT) to Sibikwa #incubator graduates enabling them to develop their exciting concepts into realistic #business proposals.

Many of us #business advisors, trainers and mentors tend to emphasise hard skills like #marketing and #finance.
I met Colin Edmonds of Protégé Project who foreground the often neglected yet essential power skills of #communication and #strategising.
An eye-opening conversation
Just spent a couple of wonderful nights at The Vaal Guesthouse.
Marie and Manuel, your friendly hosts serve delicious cuisine.
A marvelous venue, just two hours from Joburg,
The Vaal for a relaxing get-away, a family vacation, a country wedding venue, or for a corporate function

Entrepreneurship is like playing monopoly. Except there is no board to guide you on where to land. No dice to take you forward, and we don't start with the same startup capital. But you do feel like you are going around in a circle for many years.
Have you ever noticed how, when someone complains that #business us slow, and you mention #marketing or #sales, they lazily answer have they've "already tried that and it doesn't work"?

The heights by great men reached and kept
were not attained by sudden flight
but they while their companion slept
were toiling upward in the night.
