One more @asco selfie with the great @benlevylungdoc. Great to catch up at the @DaiichiSankyoUS booth. Takes me back to our days rounding on the BMT service at @WeillCornell.
I don’t do a lot of X selfies but it was great to meet @bradloncar at @asco. Keep up the great work Brad!

So proud of my great friend, @AndreaCercek, for her potential game-changing study for patients with localized rectal cancer. Bold study design with jaw-dropping results. Great work!
Very proud of our study published in @NEJM. 100% clinical complete response with dostarlimab alone in mismatch repair-deficient locally advanced #RectalCancer. No radiation or surgery! @ASCO #ASCO22 @MSKCancerCenter nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NE…

I am thrilled to announce that I’m beginning a new career as a Senior Medical Director at Daiichi Sankyo. I am grateful for the last 11 years at Mayo Clinic and will miss all of my colleagues and patients. Looking forward to new challenges and opportunities.

Beautiful and powerful piece from a former classmate @DavidsonCollege.

Finally getting to review some @asco videos. Getting started with highlights of melanoma. Great job by @JaniceM10! meetinglibrary.asco.org/reco…
With #Telemedicine taking off, many of my out of town patients are doing labs and scans locally. More urgent than ever to efficiently integrate this data. Why are we faxing and scanning @QuestLabs results instead of automatically incorporating into EPIC? #onemedicalrecord
Truly inspirational message from a colleague who is now one of the sick.
A #COVID19 battle story. This week #COVID19 became very real. This virus that has been passed all over the globe and has afflicted more than 1 million people has now infected me. Here, in my corner of the world in Durham, NC. I am 1 of ~300 +cases @DukeHealth and ~2100 in NC. 1/n
What a great idea from a brilliant oncologist and amazing human being. Thank you Monty!
Loving the response! If I could handle more than 10 screaming 5-7 year olds, I'd open up the class to all - rather, I'm happy to send anyone the slides from the class if they DM me! @apolo_andrea @The_real_Vora @markballmd @ShuchiGulati
What I thought was going to be a very stressful day in clinic has turned into a beautiful day of mutual respect, understanding, and kindness. #grateful #Telemedicine
#telemedicine is working! Thank you to all the patients for being so understanding!
Thank you for sharing. So many of us healthcare workers have vague symptoms but are unsure on what to do. Another reason to utilize #Telemedicine whenever possible.
Related to #CovidAndCancer very proud of our colleagues and experts @NCCN who drafted specific recommendations for patients with #melanoma during #COVID19 crisis. nccn.org/members/committees/…
Special shout out to the new chair of @NCCN #melanoma panel, the very thoughtful and wise, Dr. Susan Swetter @StanfordMed who had the unenviable task of replacing the legendary Dr. Dan Coit @SocietyofMSKCC
Had an excellent discussion with colleagues across the country on factors to decide type of outpatient visits: virtual, phone, or F2F. Consensus: err on the side of caution and individualize risk/benefit for each patient. Thanks @doctorpemm and others not on twitter.
Another unnecessary hurdle of telemedicine is that some states mandate that a doctor has a license in that state in order to provide medical advise. We need to eliminate this hurdle immediately.
In summary, #telemedecine is going to play a much larger role in the future. We must make decisions at the individual level with goal of keeping the the needs of the patients first and the needs of our staff a very close second. Thank you for reading and stay safe.
